No ethernet after latest Windows 10 update
location:
8forums.com - date:
December 11, 2015
I no Ethernet, but I do have wireless. Everything was functional on the 9th November, and messed up after the 10 November update. I checked everything, and the pcs running Windows 10 don't have Ethernet but my Windows Server 2012r2 has Ethernet just fine. I had XFINITY check everything on their end. I tried Winsock reset several times but no change.
Any suggestions or ideas? This happened on one of the builds before, and it seemed after a lot of hem- hawing they fixed whatever they did.

I downloaded the 2.7 GB Windows 10 update. After which I was required to restart the PC. On restarting I am again being asked to download the same 2.7 GB Windows update file. What could be the reason and how can I avoid downloading it again.

Windows 10 Update Won't Update
location:
8forums.com - date:
August 12, 2015
My Updates that show for my Windows 10 are the following:
• Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB2267602 (Definition 1.203.1973.0).
• Definition Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB3054979) 64-Bit Edition.
• Security Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3087916).
NONE WILL DOWNLOAD...they are sitting in a "Downloading updates 0%" state for hours with no progress from zero.
I am not interested in the one for Microsoft Office 2010 because the program is not on the computer, but., I am definitely interested in the two security update for Windows Defender and Flash Player.
As always any and all help is appreciated

How to get rid of "Upgrade to Windows 10" update in Windows 7 updates
location:
7forums.com - date:
August 19, 2015
I want to stop Windows 10 from installing on my Windows 7 partition.
I already have Windows 10 on another partition. But now in Windows Update I now see "Upgrade to Windows 10". How do I get rid of this and stop the Windows 10 Upgrade in Windows Update from ever appearing again.
I had previously unreserved my Windows 10 upgrade in the Windows 10 notification app, but I guess that didn't work. I'm afraid if I shutdown or restart my Windows 7 installation now the upgrade will occur.
I know this was asked before but I was unclear on exactly what to do. Any replies would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Stuck in Windows 7 session,
Tom

Avoiding the Windows 10 Update Bully with Windows 7 Updates
location:
7forums.com - date:
December 7, 2015
It is my understanding that one can avoid getting harassed by the Windows 10 update bully is one simply refuses to allow some Windows 7 updates to install. Is this notion correct?
My notes indicate that one should NOT install the KB2952664 and KM3035583 Windows 7 updates to avoid the Windows 10 update bully. Are these two updates the only ones to be avoided? Are there others to avoid? Has someone published an up-to-date list of the Windows 7 updates to avoid? Are their dangers from not installing certain Windows 7 updates?
Guidance, whether that is reference to tutorial(s), direction to previous posts, or anything else would be deeply appreciated.

Slow wifi after latest major Windows 10 update
location:
microsoft.com - date:
December 10, 2015
Hi,
Since the major Windows 10 update, my wifi download and upload speed is much slower (tested ~5mbps download on wireless compared to 100mbps with ethernet cable plugged in). I have tried updating the wireless card driver, but it says it is up to date. I get
the same speed results using different browsers (Firefox and Edge). Judging by previous comments I guess this is a problem with the Realtek wireless card driver. Details are:
- Windows 10 Home version 1511
-Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC
- No antivirus or firewall running except Windows Defender
Any suggestions much appreciated
Thanks
Jason

Bluetooth unable to start when offline after windows 10 update
location:

ASUS K43S
My laptop's bluetooth adapter (Qualcomm Atheros) won't start when i don't have internet connection. It was working fine until i updated my OS from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I tried Fn F2 to enable the device but it automatically stops. I tried updating the driver online but a dialog box will only pop up stating that "windows has determined that the driver software for your device is up to date". I also tried uninstalling the device from device manager and let windows find the driver but it still doesn't work...Can anyone share some light about this....thanks...
