XP x64 in VirtualBox on Win7 x64 optimum setup

What would be the best configuration for the Virtual Computer?
I have 8 Cores in the system, would putting 8 in the XP VM be good or bad [for multi-tasking]
How much memory? Depending on how you look at it, I have 16, 15, 12, or 11 Gigs. [Four 4 Gig sticks, 1 Gig shared Video, 4 gigs for RamDrive]
As for use of the systems: Right now, it is the only desktop in the house [not counting the server] and it's used by everyone. MOSTLY surfing the web, and some smaller games.
The XP system is mostly used by me for now, mainly getting it to function properly. SOME flash games, havn't tried a real game on it yet...

I have a dual boot of these two OS and my rig is: intel core 2 duo 2.93ghz, ram 4gb DDR-2 , Intel DG41RQ motherboard, XFX ati Radeon 4670... with this rig i can play fifa 11 at my XP with max setting at 60fps no lagging, perfect. But when i play it in Windows 7 with same settings, the fps goes down to 30~35... why is that? I also switched my power setting to gaming mode but still nothing... isn't Windows 7 suppose to increase gaming performance? same when i play Assassin's creed brotherhood in xp max setting 30fps but in Windows 7 max setting 15~20! all my drivers are updated and i just can't find out what the heck is wrong...any help???

Possible to install windows XP x64 on an external hdd
location:
7forums.com - date:

I have an Acer laptop with windows 7 x64 installed and I want to know if it's possible to install windows xp x64 on an external hard drive. I modified the boot order in the bios to bdrom-external HD-main HD then started the instalation of xp to an active partition of the external HD (it has 2 partitions and only one is active) The instalation goes well untill it has to restart to continue the instalation, that's when "Ntoskrnl.exe is missing" message appears. Can boot normally to Windows 7 if I disconect the external HD but can't install xp on it.

Has anyone successfully installed raid-1 on Windows XP x64 on SATA hard drives? If so, how?
location:
microsoft.com - date:

Good day all.
I have tried several ways to boot my server with SATA-only interfaces in RAID/AHCI mode on Windows XP
64-bit OS. I get the BSOD crash with error 7B everytime.
Here is what I've tried:
1. Bypass the AHCI check with Windows setup and hitting F7 instead.
2. Placing the ahci drivers on a USB memory stick and by using F6 to load the additional drivers.
3. Slipstreamed the drivers with SP2 into a new installation DVD.
Any more ideas, anyone?
Regards,
Bjoern
PS. Motherboard is a MSI 970A-G46 annd CPU is AMD FX-6200 with 8Gb memory.

Optimum setup for XP (Pro)
location:

I've decide to reinstall Windows XP and I'm wondering about the 'best' setup. I realise that there is no real best - but I have some ideas and questions and I'd be grateful if people could comment on them. My system has two internal IDE hard drives (60 and 80 GB), 2 USB2 external drives and 1 USB1 external drive. I mainly do graphic work using Coreldraw and sound and video work using Acid and Vegas video. basic system information: Windows XP Pro, Pentium 4 2GB, 1 GB Ram, Audigy Ext, Radeon 8500DV videocard,
I'm thinking of the following:
1. Put Windows XP on the 60GB drive - drive C:
2. Create partitions on the 80GB drive, one for a Swap file, one for TEMP files and Intenet Explorer temp files and one for working data.
3. Make the Swap f
