Access XP Mode files from Windows 7
location:

I'm new to this so I apologize for sounding like an idiot. I just got a new computer and am a novice in Windows 7.
I have an old program that I had to install in XP Mode. It works fine. It's an old medical billing program (Medisoft) that won't run in Windows 7
I use MS Access 2007 (and ODBC drivers) to access and manipulate some of the database tables of Medisoft.
Do I have to install Access in XP Mode to do this?
Or can I use the Access 2007 that I installed in Windows 7 to directly access the files on Virtual Windows XP??
If so, where the heck are they? I can't figure out how to see the files on the virtual windows XP from Windows 7 (using windows explorer).
I'm so frustrated. This upgrade to a Windows 7 computer is taking me way wa

Move XP mode to another user profile

I need to move my xp mode from the current user to another user. Is there an easy way to do this? I'm trying to avoid having to reinstall an app.
I don't need to use it at all on the original user's profile. But for future reference, I am curious if I could.
I know someone out there has the answer...Thanks in advance for sharing it with us. DS/Anchorage, AK

Licensing employer's Office 2010 to run under XP Mode
location:
7forums.com - date:

I'm trying to use XP Mode virtual machine to run Outlook at work. I have been able to get it to work technically, but have run into administrative problems having to do with Microsoft licensing policy. After a week or two of successful operation, I got a message in the VM when I started Outlook that my copy was not registered and I had 5 days to fix that issue.
The product manager for MS Office at my employer is saying that MS policy prevents licensing/registering MS Office on both the underlying Windows 7 and the XP mode VM on the same physical platform.
Is there a work around?

Windows 7 64-bit w/XP Mode compatability
location:

Our office is looking to upgrade a computer for a corporate executive, which could be the first of many. An important application our business needs to remotely access our business network is "Intel(R) NetStructure(tm) VPN Client and Intel NetStructure
VPN Manager Release 6.8.1". It is fairly old software, we have only been able to run this application on a 32-bit Windows XP Operating System.
Will we be able to run this program on a 64-bit Windows 7 Pro Operating System with XP Mode?
Additional Programs we need to run on the 64-bit OS (Either XP Mode or Windows 7) are:
1) Lotus Notes
2) JWALK/Scoopsoft
Alternatively, is it possible to do a dual boot with 64-bit Windows 7 Pro and 32-bit Windows XP? What are the advantages and di

Is it worth creating XP mode in windows 7
location:

In order to run virtual XP, I bought Windows 7 pro (64 bit) and installed today.
Before buying windows XP, I would like to ask you a simple question: How well XP mode runs under windows 7? Is it worth running XP mode?
My purpose is to use some programs which run only under XP,not under windows 7.
Your comment would be appreciated.

I just installed XP mode. In the XP desktop, if I do click Start, right-click MyComputer, and select Properties, there is no indication in the General tab as to whether it is 32-bit XP or 64-bit XP. Is there a way to tell?
