Windows 8 and windows XP with multiple boot

I have got Windows 8 home PC recently and would like to install Windows XP on D drive, how can I have multiple/dual boot after that? I have Windows Back up dvd and don't want to disturb my windows 8 on C drive. Also, I don't like third party software to
repair boot sec like EasyBCD and all, so is there a simple way to get multiple boot after installing windows XP on D drive?

It seems that the boot sequence is just circling itself. No matter if I try to start XP normally or in Safe Mode I keep coming back to the screen that asks how I want Windows XP to open. Any help would be appreciated.

I still can't find info about windows xp will not boot in any mode. Keep looping on the screen where it has Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Network, Last Know Configuration, etc. Any solution? I appreciate your time.

I need help removing the Windows XP Setup from Boot Manager.

I recently installed Windows 7 and its running very smoothly. However, when I start it up, in the boot manager, I had to choose between Windows 7 or Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows XP Setup. I have a netbook with little disk space so I deleted
the Windows.old file to remove XP. Now I'm stuck with Windows 7 and Microsoft Windows XP Setup in the boot manager. The setup is corrupted, when I choose it it says: "Windows failed to Start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause". Then it
tells me to" run the Repair your computer from the windows Disk" Then it tells me:
file: \$LDR$ Status: 0xc000000f Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the aplication is missing or corrupt. I tried to us EasyBCD to

Windows XP SP3, wont boot after power outage

Hey guys,
Here's the thing. last night we have a mysterious power outage and mp pc went off as well. i went to sleep and try turning it on this morning...it keeps going to the same page and restarts after i made a choice
i get to the point where it gives the following choices and i attempt each of them with the following responses:
1. safe mode - pc resets during loading data pool
2. safe mode with command prompt - pc resets during loading data pool
3. safe mode with networking - pc resets during loading data pool
4. last known good configuration - pc resets during loading start screen
5. start normally - pc resets during loading start screen
i have also tried unplugging all usb peripherals/cord and waited...no luck

Windows XP will not boot with a USB drive attached

My Seagate backup drive was replaced under warranty, but the new one, if attached, prevents windows from booting with a hang just before the blue "Windows is starting" screen. The old drive did not do this and the replacement is identical as far as I can
tell. One of my USB pen drives also causes this problem both on my PC and another - but is only rarely present for boot.
How can I fix this? I wonder if an update has caused this - that backup drive was off the system for many weeks while getting the replacement so I have no close time frame for when the system became fussy!
THe BIOS is set to boot only from the usual HDD.

Hello Michael,
Often we see crashes as the result of a program loading on startup. To resolve these, we use clean boot troubleshooting.

the registry connot loas the hive (file):
systemroot/systerm32.config/software
or its log is laternate
it is corrupt absent or not writable
