Password Reset Disk (Windows XP Pro Sp1)

The Password Reset Disk tip in the Vol 3 No.17 issue is great! But I'm wondering... is the disk you create specific to the computer you created the disk on? That is, can the disk be used on any Windows XP PC or only the specific PC where it originated?

How to remove Windows XP User Accounts without removing content
location:
microsoft.com - date:
December 2, 2011
My 11-year-old daughter uses my laptop Windows XP PC to do some of her homework, and she thought it would be "fun" to create user accounts for all of us in the house. Now when I turn it on, it gives me a screen to choose which user I am (no passwords
required thankfully).....but I do not have access to all my files and the settings are not allowing me to go online when I'm in "my" account. I do not wish to have any user accounts on my PC and would like to delete all of them, but I am afraid it will delete
content and/or user settings if I click on the "delete user account" button. Can someone advise me if my fears are well-founded, and what the best way is to restore my non-user-account P

Secure Logon option disabled (Windows XP SP1)
location:
winsecrets.com - date:
November 14, 2002
On all machines that are running Windows XP Professional (SP1), we can disable "secure logon"
(Requiring that you use CTRL+ALT+DEL to access the logon screen, except one. We had upgraded
that machine from Windows 2000 to XP and when we access Users Accounts and then click on Advanced
tab, on the bottom of the dialog box, there is an option called "Secure Logon" and it is greyed out! We want
to remove the Secure Logon for variety of reasons.
We even logged in as local admin to no avail...Modified the registry and still can't get that option to "activate"
and it is still asking for secure login which is driving us nuts! Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks.
