I have got Windows 8 home PC recently and would like to install Windows XP on D drive, how can I have multiple/dual boot after that? I have Windows Back up dvd and don't want to disturb my windows 8 on C drive. Also, I don't like third party software to
repair boot sec like EasyBCD and all, so is there a simple way to get multiple boot after installing windows XP on D drive?

Purchased Windows 8 download but it won't install by product key method- Windows XP to Windows 8

Purchased a digital copy of the new Windows 8 ap and tried to install per instructions for those wishing to use only a product key, but no luck - dead in the water. Because my computer is running old Windows XP Pro, I searched the community forum for answers
before buying online, because running the Update Assistant gave me an error message: 'this platform not supported'. Microsoft's page for ordering Windows 8 states I can upgrade Windows XP to Windows 8, so I was confused about the error message.
I found a number of threads online regarding this issue, and read through all, in an effort to understand precise steps for upgrading XP Pro to Windows 8. These steps included -

Windows XP Compatibility Mode missing on a fresh install of Windows 8?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
December 8, 2012
So, I just did a fresh install of Windows 8 Professional (got a nasty little bug that was wasting resources left and right) and came to notice, this time around, Windows XP Compatibility Mode is now missing from my options in the list. It's required to
use a program I use often and, before the reinstall, the program worked without a problem (obviously when I had it set to compatibility mode). Is there a way to bring back XP compatibility mode in Windows 8? I should add, the previous install was an upgrade
from Windows 7 to Windows 8.

Cannot connect my Google Nexus 7 tablet to my Windows XP computer via USB
location:
microsoft.com - date:
July 23, 2012
When i plug it in, the tablet lists that it connected, and the "Found new Hardware Wizard" pops up on my desktop, but i cannot see the tablet on "my computer". When i switch to "PTP" mode instead of "MTP" I can see the tablet on my computer, but PTP mode
doesn't work for file transfer. I contacted Google support and they said there is nothing that they can do to help me, and that I should contact the Microsoft forums to see if there is an MTP driver fix. I already have WMP 11, and I also already reinstalled
the MTP porting kit. Any help would be much appreciated!!!!!!
