Hi! I tried to setup my home network(peer-to-peer without server) to share some files without succeeding. Ok. I know this has been discussed and posted quite sometimes over the net, but i just couldn't find the exact solution after searching and trying for the past 4 hours
There is actually some other issue, but i have solve them all except this one - Windows 7 could see Windows XP Home but could not connect to it(but the XP could connect to 7). Whenever i try to connect, it will prompt me to login. I have create a 'login account' on both ends and try to use that to login but everytime it will says "logon failure: unknown username or password" - I did not prefix the PC's name, just enter the username and password

windows XP Home 2002 SP3, no administrative tools, Microsoft Updates will not update automatically
location:

recently had some problems with my computer, I think some how I deleted my administrative tools shortcuts. When I try to get on to Microsoft Updates I get an error telling me to enable user persistance, when I go into my internet options this is already
enabled. When I click onto my Administrative Tools I have NO shortcuts to anything. I believe there should be 5 or 6 programs in this section. I have tried to restore my computer with no luck. My restore doesn't work either.

.NET framework causes login required on XP (Windows XP home)
location:
winsecrets.com - date:
September 18, 2003
Not sure if this is a question for this forum or XP, so I'm going to post in both places.
I recently installed a 3rd party application that required the .NET framework to be installed. I downloaded from Microsoft and installed it, along with the application. Now whenever I start XP I get the user login screen, with my user name, since I'm the only user. In the User Profiles I now find that as well as me, as administrator, and a currently un-enabled Guest profile, there's also a profile for ASP.NET. It's a password protected profile so I don't know if I can alter it, but I'd really rather that XP started cleanly without the user sign-on screen.
Any Ideas?
