~SOLVED~ If you tried everything to get your graphics card to show up on Windows 8 (instead of the default driver) but nothing works, refer to the very last post in this thread for how I solved the problem. ~SOLVED~
I'll post this in points to make it simple so hopefully nobody skims past this issue.
1. My computer is self-built from a bunch of other computers. "Frankenstein" I call her.
- It has good parts, but some names of the hardware is unknown to me.
2. I have just upgraded to Windows 8 today from a barely operating Windows XP with driver issues (they got lost in the building process).
3. I have an ASUS Motherboard, that came with an Alienware Aurora.
4. I know what kind of graphics card I have.

Hello, I installed Windows 7 Home Premium on an IBM ThinkPad T40. I have been trying to get aero to work, so I did the troubleshooter and this came up: The current video card may support Aero with a driver that is compliant with the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM). Contact the manufacturer of your computer or video card for a WDDM-compatible driver. So, all I know is that my video card is ATI some thing....where can I find out what I have for a video card?

Hello. I just bought an ASUS A53z-NB61. Nothing in the user manual or in control panel gives the answer. Even the specifications page on the ASUS support site is unavailable. The device listed as the hdd (I think) is designated as "ST932032 5a sata disk device." I haven't had any luck finding any specs on that even. Thanks in advance.

i had installed windows 7 and and i didnt have a product key now i used the pproduct key for a windows xp version and it let me continue sayin i have a month or something to register now my questions are
Q. will i have a problem in the futer using this key
Q. can i chang the key if i get one
Q. and can i just recover my old key for the old hard drive and computer and just use that one?

Windows XP Mode Help- How do you auto run on startup?

I have a user that is using windows 7 pro x64.
This user has programs that must be run in windows xp mode.
I have created the window xp mode vhd and set and tested the shortcuts on the Windows 7 desktop and everything is working great.
I would like to be able to have the user run the program from the desktop without having to start the virtual pc first.
Does anyone know of a way for the virtual pc to run at startup without user interaction?
I thought of the startup folder but the VM opens up on the user screen ...which he then has to close to hibernation and then clicks on the xpmode shortcuts on the Windows 7 desktop.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

I too have been stricken with the Win8 plague. Prior to my ambitious Win8 Pro upgrade, I used Win 7 x64 Ultimate relentlessly for years and the OS was bulletproof. I couldn't ding it despite my rough nature with OS's. Fast forward to Win 8 Pro upgrade.....nothing
but mind boggling problems out of it and I consider myself a borderline power-user. I'm not a programmer but I can work my way in & out easily.

how to integrate win xp sp3 slipstream into my old version win xp sp1 Cd.just i try this
steps which i follow : copy the my win xp sp1 Cd in C drive and copy the Slipstream Windows XP Service Pack 3 in C drive . open the command prompt and fire the following command
C:\XPSP3.EXE /integrate:C:\XPSETUP
first this extracting all files and after this give following message which image i uploaded.
my system running under windows 7 ultimate edition.
