location:

Hi All,
I had to reinstall Windows XP Pro and then all the Windows Updates. After doing a reboot, I saw my WiFi icon in the system tray has changed.
It use to be the default icon, 2 computers with transmission lights back and forth, just like the wired network connection icon. When you hover over it I would see a popup with the Network name, connection speed, etc..
After doing some updates and then rebooting the computer my WiFi icon is now a radio tower (looks like a chess pawn with radio waves on both sides). When I hover over it I get nothing. When I double click on it I get nothing. I have to right click and select

I have a home network, an xp connected to a router, a l'top xp with wireless capability and a wireless printer. Until recently all worked OK.
My l'top will not now connect to anything, not to the printer, the d'top or the i'net. In Network conections on the l'top, the network connections icon has a re X on it.
I have tried several approaches but still cant connect the l'top.
Any suggestions?

Click the drop-down arrow at the right of the "Look in" box and select "Local Disk (C:)"
Then click the double downward arrows next to "More advanced options"
Each of the top 3 boxes (for the options that I described in my earlier post) should be checked. If there is no check in a box, click it once. Make certain that the boxes for "Case sensitive" and "Search tape backup" are
