Windows XP SP3: There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network.
location:
microsoft.com - date:
June 24, 2011
As noted, I am running Windows XP SP3. Starting around June 14, 2011, I have been getting this error message: "There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network." I have not had any issues accessing the internet, which is bizarre considering
every forum I have read the user has had issues with this.
I have followed different steps to try to resolve this. I have checked IP addresses on all the devices tied into my network; none match the computer I am receiving this message. I have tried refreshing and renewing my IP address for that computer, but
that did not resolve the issue. I have updated my modem drivers; that didn't resolve. I have checked the settings on my router

Windows XP Pro - Printer Configuration - Local and Network
location:
microsoft.com - date:
January 14, 2013
Running Windows Xp Pro SP3
Situation is as follows:
I configured a Xerox Phaser 3600DN networked printer and it was working as designed.
I had to also install another Xerox Phaser 3600DN Local via USB on same desktop.
Once local is up and running network printer fails to print / Local is working as designed.
I went under Printers and Faxes and then Print Server Properties / drivers tab /
There is only one driver showing up.
I can get the network printer working again once I disconnect the local and then remove the driver listed then reinstalling.
Still as soon as I plug in the local printer the network printer fails again.
Any ideas?

Sharing local colour printer across a network (Windows XP/Windows Server 2000)
location:
winsecrets.com - date:
August 4, 2004
We have an HP Deskjet 1000 C colour printer connected to one of our workstations. I would like to be able to share this printer as a network printer so all users on our network can us it. I've enabled sharing on the desktop and I can add it as a network printer on another workstation...however, print jobs sent to it from a different workstation will not print. Local jobs do print. It's an old printer so I can't connect it to the network via a network cable. It's connected locally using a parallel cable.
What am I missing? How can I get print jobs to print across the network?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Christa
