Hello Everyone,
Unable to run Windows Update (WU). Receiveing Error Number : [0x80070424]
I have followed automatic fix through "Fix It" and the manual process to no avail. Wutomatic Updates does not appear in services. Tthe manual instructions instructs to load the Windows Update Installer, but when I try to load the Windows Update Installer
(WUI) I receive the message that WUI is already installed. I am stuck now. Please help. Thank you for taking the time to read this and have a wonderful day.

Windows Update I get the error message:"The required lookup key was not found in any active activation context."

When I go to Start,Programs, Windows Update I get the error message:"The required lookup key was not found in any active activation context." I also get this message if I click on any "Highlighted" link to something else.
I have been dealing with support with ID # 116469017ID and have not gotten complete results. I have to always go to the main Google page to enter any site I want to access. I cannot just type the url address in the address bar. I get the same error message
about the requested lookup key not found.

I tried running windows update and ran into a problem saying that windows update service might not be running and i need to restart my computer but after many restart its still not running. tried reboot still the same. laptop came with windows seven pre

avira virus and spy bot (safer-networking.org). other laptop is windows 7 with avira virus control and spy bot (safer-networking.org) and there is no problems with that one

My last update was January 16, 2012. I get an error code 80070426 Windows Update encountered an unknown error. Windows could not search for new updates. I have tried every thing I can find with no help. The only thing I've found is that when I attempt
to start the Software Licensing service, it fails to start. The only change that I made to my PC is the addition of a wireless card. The card and the Ethernet still work. I have a Dell 8400 with 1.5G byte memory and 1.5T Byte of hard drive space.

SURT error 0xc8000247 and Windows update service isn't running

Hi all-
This is my first post so hopefully I'm doing it correctly.
I've been having issues with my Windows update service not checking for updates since it says the service isn't running. I have tried various other fixes that I've seen in other threads such as running Malwarebyte and FSS. When running those tools, no issues were found.
I downloaded SURT, and while the installation will initialize, it stops and gives me a 0xc8000247 error.
I ran sfc /scannow and have attached the log file below.
I have also enclosed the CBS logs as requested.
I am running Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) and have SP1 installed. Please advise if there is any additional information that you need. If it matters, the computer in question is

I am trying to run a "Windows Update" on a small notebook that I have and it does not want to cooperate. It tells me that "Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You may need to restart your computer." I restarted my computer, but to no avail. So my question is - now what? How do I get the "update" running again?
