Windows Update failed to install Internet Explorer 10 - Code 9C59
location:
7forums.com - date:
August 10, 2013
I'm running Windows 7 x86_64 architecture, and I am trying to install Internet Explorer 10 via the Windows Update service (currently I have Internet Explorer 8 installed). This update is continually failing with a 9C59 error (screenshot attached). I have tried to update to Internet Explorer 10 manually via the .exe to install Internet Explorer 10 and it also fails (as does, IE 9).
I have also attached the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS directory as a .zip file. From this, it seems as though some repair files are missing, although I can't quite figure out where these are supposed to be, or from which package/update they should have been installed from.
Any help appreciated,
Jon

Windows Update error 9C59 when updating Internet Explorer 10
location:
7forums.com - date:
August 8, 2013
Hi Guys,
I am new to the forum so sorry if this thread is not as it should be.
I have spent a while researching the above issue and there has been a number of these issues brought up and I have seen that you guys are very experienced in this field so would like to pick your brains if I may.
I understand this issue is generally different every time it pops up, unfortunately I have looked through the CBS log and cannot see which of the many errors are the cause for the Internet Explorer 10 update 9C59 issue.
I have attached the logs suggested and would really appreciate any help with this.
Oh! I have tried using the stand alone IE 10 installer but this failed also.
Thanks

Strange: I can create a post (such as this one) in the Lounge using IE 10 under Windows 8 (64-bit); but cannot edit it. I have to go to IE 9 under Windows 7 (64-bit) to do so???? (Similarly, I cannot enter comments into Face Book or get any reaction when trying to click on "like" in FB when using IE 10 under Windows 8 (64-bit)?????
Note: I have just discovered I CAN edit this thread under Compatibility View using IE 10 under Windows 8 (64-bit)

Windows 8 / Internet Explorer 10 Issues

It seems that IE 10 (Windows 8) will not load (or takes anywhere from 5 to 25 min to load) any web page, Firefox and Chrome on same machine run fine. I fired up my laptop which is also Windows 8 with IE 10 and the same thing happens, I tried the following on my laptop: 1. Uninstalled Firefox and Chrome rebooted and tried IE 10 2. Uninstalled and reinstalled IE 10 3. Uninstalled Flash 4. Disabled Flash using the MMC (flash is embedded inside IE 10) 5. Ran IE 10 without add-ons (iexplore.exe -extoff) 6. Updated NIC drivers 7. Reset TCPIP stack 8. Reset IE in Internet Options 9. Disabled all startup items and all non-Microsoft services 10. Enabled Enhanced Protected Mode within
