Hello everyone!
Firstly i wanna apologize my very bad english spelling skills and say that i´m new to this forum.
My problem started about month ago, very often when i try to shutdown or reboot my windows suddenly everything gets blurry on my desktop and nothing happens. I can move mouse and use keyboard, but it only reacts to ctrl+alt+del and when i press that combination it goes to that "login" screen.
If i try to shut it down from there, screen just goes black and nothing happens. Luckily today when i pressed ctrl+alt+del it also popped up this error message: dwm.exe - Application Error : The instruction at 0x690043f0 referenced memory at 0x690043f0. The memory could not be written.

Intervening in Windows 8 shutdown/restart if it's slow?

Scenario: I find some processes and devices take considerable time to shut down. Speculatively, I think because some processes might hold handles open or do a lot of closure activity after a "close" signal, or perhaps open handles prevent
shutdown of removable storage. (Outlook is - or was - notorious for taking ages to shutdown, many users anecdotally find themselves themselves forced to kill it from Task Manager eventually rather than wait the 10 - 20 mins it can take to end its task.)
Windows 7 behaviour worked nicely: Under Windows 7, shutdown or restart displayed a list of processes which were awaiting termination. I could cancel the shutdown/restart if I noticed an issue needing human attention, or te

windows 8 shutdown problem

I have been running the RTM version Windows 8 x64 since its release and have recently been unable to shut down my PC. When I select shut down or restart through the user interface, the process wininit.exe hangs and the computer remains on. Shutting down
using the command line "shutdown.exe /s /t 00" avoids the problem but is not really a satisfactory solution as it terminates all running threads without the ability to save data or state information. I would be very grateful if someone could help me to diagnose
the cause of this problem.

Files that are required for Windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions
location:

I keep getting this window popping up that reads, "Files that are required for Windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions. To maintain system stability, Windows must restore the original versions of these files. Insert your Windows
XP Professional CD2 now." The problem is, I'm not running XP Professional. I'm running XP Media Edition (not sure which version -- when I look at "System" in the Control panel it says version 2002, but the OS disk that came with my computer says version
2005 with update rollup 2). In any case, I only have one installation disk, and when I insert it, the computer tells me it's the wrong disk. What do I do?
