Windows 8.1 non touch device, how to use touch keyboard ?
location:

Hello!
My laptop running windows 8.1 (not a touch screen) - I would like to know how to use the Touch Keyboard in the windows store app. I have the Yahoo Mail app downloaded from the windows store, I want to open the Touch Keyboard inside the Yahoo Mail app so that I can insert the emoji icons.
I already knew this: Go to desktop, right click the taskbar => Toolbar => Touch keyboard. Now what, how can I make the touch keyboard popup inside Yahoo Mail app?
Thank you for your help

Windows 8.1 "touch keyboard" is blank
location:

I use touch keyboard often and today I noticed that it's blank (see screenshot). If I maximize it to the wide layout I quickly see the keyboard and then it goes black again. Any ideas as to what this could be? My windows 8.1 installation is two days old and I've been installing stuff all day. Previously, I had no issues with this since day one of Windows 8.1's release.

WIndows 8 on non touch screen laptop in my opinion has left me with a machine which is unusable

I have installed WIndows 8 on non touch screen laptop which i bought brand new 3 months ago and in my opinion has left me with a machine which is unusable... I would like to re-install windows 7 but i also want my £14.99 back as the product i bought (windows
8) is not fit for purpose! Maybe if i had a touchscreen device i would feel different but the lack of start menu and stupid design means it will severely affect my productivity... I now have to spend a day of my life backing up my computer and doing a fresh
install of windows 7!

So, how many people are actually using Windows 8 on a touch device?
location:

Just curious. I'm a product advisor at one of the Microsoft stores, and I know when we're demoing Windows 8, we only the Samsung Series 7 slates. One of the big criticisms I've been reading about Windows 8 is that it doesn't work well on regular desktops and laptops. I installed the release preview on my Fujitsu Lifebook T900 a few days ago, and it's been fairly smooth sailing for me whether I'm navigating with a stylus or a keyboard/touchpad. The only trouble I've been having is with sliding from the left to access past apps, and I think that's because my screen resolution is 1280x800. I tend to use my keyboard to get around more often than my stylus because of that issue.
Anyone else using Windows 8 on tablet pc? Or has anyone

Difficult scrolling (non-touch) on Windows 8.1 Preview
location:

Scrolling is very choppy and difficult both in IE11 and in other places, such as the Start screen. This happens to me when I'm scrolling using my touchpad or just a regular mouse scroll wheel. If I scroll
very slowly it moves for me, but if I try to scroll quickly it acts very strange: it lags and then picks up speed and jumps down the page.
I'm not using a touch device.

How to Correctly Install Windows 8.1 Preview
location:

June 26, 2013
The official documentation that reached the web recently reveal that Windows 8 users should basically make the switch to Windows 8.1 Preview via the Windows Store, as this is the safest, easiest, and fastest way to do it.
Separate ISOs will also be offered for those who wish to set up a dual-boot configuration and install Windows 8.1 Preview on a different partition. Here’s what Microsoft says about it.

How do I get the windows 8.1 update using boot camp?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
June 26, 2013
I've been using windows 8 through boot camp on my macbook pro for a few months. I downloaded the Windows update that allows you to download 8.1 from the store, but when I restarted the computer after the update, no pop-up came up for me to download 8.1
from the store, and when I go to the store, the update isn't there. I tried uninstalling the update and then reinstalling it but still received no pop-up. I can't figure out how to get 8.1. As well, my activation for using windows 8 expires in December...would
that matter? Thanks.
