Slow file copy in Windows 7 Virtual PC XP Mode

Hi,
First things first, here are my machine's specs:
ASUS K55VD
Intel Core i7-3610QM @ 2.30GHz (Ivy Bridge)
8GB RAM
Windows 7 Professional 64bit
My problem is probably the most common problem with running virtual machines - slow file copy (network). I have already done an intensive research on suggestions which could fix my issue but still no luck:
1. enable_idle_thread in Options.xml
2. DisableTaskOffload in registry (both in host Windows 7 and guest XP)
3. Disable offloading in NIC advanced options
4. Tried VMWare Player but it turned out to be slower than Windows Virtual PC
I'm frustrated that everybody from where I have read who tried the above solutions seemed to have their problems fixed except for me. Just to add, I have set the

location:

I am trying to install Windows 8 Preview onto a Virtual PC.
Using Virtual PC (Ver 6.1.7601.17514) on Windows 7 64 bit.
Get blue screen with sad face with the following error:
"hal_initialization_failed"
Message advised to look this up on the internet.
I have found a couple of posts suggesting MS Virtual PC is not compatible with Windows 8.
Thought I would check here but could not find any posts.
Could anyone please confirm if this should work with Virtual PC?

I can network from my home (windows 8) computer and connect remotely to my office (windows XP) just fine. However when I try it the other way around it just wont connect and tells me to contact the other PCs administrator (ie me!)
I am cant see any settings that would prevent this either in my router or windows 8 - but no further explanation is given. I unticked the box about network secure PCs as this only works for Windows 7/Vista
I have checked windows firewall and have looked at my router - my old router had somewhere to setup trusting for particular IP addresses but the Belkin router I have now doesnt seem to have this. I have tried it withe the firewall off - still no joy

location:

Hi there,
I recently installed a genuine version of Windows Virtual PC with XP Mode and updated to Service Pack 1 to use it.
I successfully managed to run Windows XP Mode. Now some of my softwares which might not run on Windows 7, are running smoothly on XP Mode.
The problem is now that I have only one internet connection and I work on the internet all the time I am on PC.
I have some software on both of them (Win 7 and Virtual XP) which I want to grant internet access.
Since I have only one connection, the only way is to share an internet connection between these two.
I know the method to share an internet connection between two computers but don't have any idea on how to share an internet connection between Windows 7 and Virtual

I just purchased a SYX Mid-Tower ATX Computer from Tiger Direct and it has the capability to run the Windows XP mode and the Virtual Mode. I have an OEM Windows 7 Professional 64 bit OS.
My problem is that I only a dial-up internet connection, the XP mode file alone is > 500Mb in size. I calculated I would have to tie up the phone line for over a day and I only have one line.
Is there a way to get the files on my work computer, which has a T1 line. However it is running Vista not Windows 7.
I live 40 miles from my home computer to my work computer. and is a real pain to go all this distance.
Microsoft is paranoid as usual. They forget that not everyone has a fast internet connection at home, or can even get one, especially in the coun

Windows 7 Virtual PC to run XP installed on different hard drive
location:

I have several hard drives in my computer. One of them contains my windows XP from before my win 7 install. Can Virtual PC or Sun's Virtual Box be set up to run this previously installed XP? I'd like to run it within win 7. All my old files are under
the xp directories and seem to be encrypted so I can't open them - but that is only one reason I want to do this.
