Original title : Vista Home Premium 32 bit --> Windows 8 Pro 64 bit
Hello.. I have Vista Home Premium SP2 with all latest updates. My computer supports 64 bit. Few days ago, I bought Windows 8 Pro Upgrade Pack from computer(electronic items) store. Inside pack, there are 32 bit and 64 bit uprade DVDs. Can I upgrade my Vista
32 bit to Windows 8 Pro with that 64 bit DVD? Does it cause any harm any harm to my computer or give any error if I try?

Upgrade from XP SP3 to Windows 8 via install of Vista and Windows 7 without authentication of those intermediate OS installs. Is it feasible?

Rather than go directly from XP SP3 to Windows 8 and have to reinstall every application on three different computers, can I install Vista, then Windows 7 and then Windows 8 one after the other without authenticating the Vista and Windows 7 installs...
Just install Vista, then immediately install 7, then immediately install Windows 8 and authenticate only Windows 8. That would save having to reinstall many applications three times over. I cannot find information on this method of upgrading from XP SP3 to
Windows 8 anywhere.

Windows 8 Clean Install from Upgrade Disk to SSD with no Operating System

I'm about to build a new pc and would like to know if I need to buy a full version of Windows 8 or can I use the update version to do a clean install on a disk drive which does not contain any operating system? It was possible to install Windows 7 from an upgrade rather than having to buy the full version so can something similar be done with Windows 8 and still be legitimate within the licence agreement?

Recover Windows 7 Key from Windows 8 upgrade?
location:

Hi,
I've recently upgraded my PC to Windows 8 (via upgrade not clean install). Is it possible to recover the Windows 7 Key i used before? I have 2 uses remaining on that key and have lost the disk / key. I've just built a new computer and have 4 days remaining until the 30day trail of Win7Pro expires. Any ideas?
Thanks,

How to activate Windows 8 upgrade from a new installation
location:

Hello,
a friend of mine has the following problem:
He bought a Windows 8 Pro upgrade licence, but did a complete new installation. But now he can't activate Windows 8. He is owner of a valid Windows 7 key, but there is no option to validate your Windows 8 licence, if you did a new installation. Former Windows installations asked you during the installation for a valid CD/DVD of a former Windows version, but this is not the case. So how can he activate his Windows 8 now?

I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite L775-119 which I have upgraded to Windows 8. From that point I have not been able to use my CD/DVD drive. In Device Manager 'DVD/CD-ROM drives' it shows TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS L663F as the details. Under PROPERTIES - General
the device status is shown as "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)". Under PROPERTIES - Driver - The provider is Microsoft, dated 21/6/06, version 6.2.9200.16384.
Under Driver Details TWO driver files are shown; cdrom.sys (26/7/12), provided by Windows, and tdcmdpst.sys (30/7/09), provided by Toshiba. If I select 'Update Driver' Windows says that the driver software for the device is up to
