Windows 8 Apps not installing
location:
microsoft.com - date:
October 28, 2012
I tried to install a number of Apps (Wikipedia, Wordpress, and more) and some of them don't make any progress. They get to "Downloading" status and then fail; I tried to cancel the installation and restart it from scratch and they go to "Pending" status
and stay there forever.

Windows 8 update not working
location:

PC purchased end of January, with Windows 8 on it.
Checking Windows Update, I keep getting message to install downloaded updates, but configuration always fails.
Only items successfully installed are
KB2771431
KB890830
KB2756923
I'm concerned about the security of my computer, and surprised this problem should occur on a new machine.

Original Title: After automatic update the machine reports "Failure configuring Window Update. Reverting changes". I have tried troubleshooter many times, without success. Please help: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
This is a VAIO E Series, Intel core i7, touch screen.
Since I have it, 26 October 2012, no single update could be completed. I refreshed the Windows OS, but the problem remains.

location:

I have purchased a new Windows 8 laptop and I'm looking to get the latest Windows updates in order to be able to upgrade to Windows 8.1. Every time I attempt to access windows update, either via the computer information or the start menu, it freezes. After a while it will eventually get to the actual update screen where I can choose to check for updates. Upon pressing this it freezes again, and will eventually resume checking. After a while I get the error code 80072EE2. I have tried using the Windows Update Troubleshooting tool and it does notify me that there are problems and corrupted files, but says it hasn't fixed them! Screenshot below: If the Troubleshooter can't fix this, what should I do to be able to update? I have previously

Windows Update Not Installing Them
location:

Whenever I try to get Windows to install new updates, it acts as if it's installing them but then gets to 15% and switches to another window. Then another screen comes up and tells me "Failure converting changes, reverting changes, Windows will shut down? It will not install Any updates and I'm very concerned about not being up-to-date on security issues, as I have weeks of updates not installed? Please, I tried the MS Fix tool but it didn't work for me. Is there any way around this? If I have to take my into the shop to have them figure out how to d/l it, it will cost me big time and I can't afford it. Thanks!
Carol
