Can not update from Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit to Windows 8 Pro

I get all nice and dandy until i get informative error:
"Windows 8 installation has failed" and get thrown out.

I have core i7 920, asus p6t deluxe v2. I'm re-downloading now, but I'm hitting my head to a wall.
I know i can delete everything and do fresh install, but obviously I would like to update my old OS to new one.
I just hate when things don't work and no explanation in the error of what might be wrong.
Uninstalled my Avira Anti-virus and Spy-bot as well before attempting. Can't update from USB either.

Windows 8 ISO DVDinstall stops installing at 84% install. Says been an error and Windows 8 installation failed. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit English.

I've tried installing Windows 8, 2 or 3 times now from a ISO DVD. First install it failed at 78 % installation. 2nd time at 84%. I get an error message saying Windows 8 installation has failed. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit( English) on a Dell
computer. 1 T hardrive, 8GB memory. IE 9 browser.

I have w 7 ultimate which i paid good money for but i got the "internet security pro" malware which is removed--but various things dont work right and i get errors. woman responded to use "windows defender offline" i go there and it says "you have windows
7 64 bit--wont work on your computer"
question is that if i upgrade to windows 8--will it override and fix my problems with registry etc?? or will it upgrade by i still have the various problems?? if i upgrade will i lose my various documents and pictures? or will they still be there?
on windows defender offline--that fixes various issues and spyware that other fixits dont--i see no reason why a modern windows 7 ultimate 64 bit simp

Free Windows 8 download 64 bit ISO?

Hi All,
I have a friend who has a fairly new Windows 8 X64 system which she can't boot because I think she got a bad virus. She doesn't have a Windows 8 install disk with her system (never supplied) but has a valid Windows 8 License key for X64 sticker on her system. I know with windows 7 there were a few sites you could download an ISO disk for free, like from Digital River and a couple others, I'm still running Windows 7 myself but does anyone know where I can download a Win 8 X64 ISO disk so I can burn it for her so she (or WE) can re-install Win 8?
This forum has been GREAT in the past, thanks for any help...

clean reboot with windows service
also try via using NVIDIA gpu and Intel's integrated gpu
also tried advanced_SC 5.X and tuneup utility 2012 for registry issue
but fails 2 times
and c:windowsanther: setuprr.log is empty

Slightly messy situation; How can I upgrade from 32-bit Windows 8 to 64-bit Windows 8?

I need to use 16 GB of RAM but because of 32-bit limitations, I can't. Now, I have two things; I have a physical copy of Windows 7 and
just a key for Windows 8 which I got from digitally upgrading my OS.
Could anyone kindly elaborate to me the steps I need to take? And is it possible without having to spend more money for anything else?

I asked for Windows 8 OS for my desktop. The retailer gave me OS titled as
Windows 8 SL 64-bit. I'm from India.
What does this SL mean? How does this differ from the other versions of Win 8?
I searched through Microsoft.com for Win 8 SL; but couldn't find any info.

Hello,
I have downloaded Windows 8 Pro 64-bit through the students/partner site and burnt it on a DVD..
When I boot from it though I get many types of errors....the most common is 0xc0000098 that says that my PC needs to be repaired and that one or more files are missing or contain errors...I have also tried burning 3 different dvds with different programs to make sure it's not a program's fault but still with no results...Any help will be appreciated!!!
