Windows 8 tablet showdown: ASUS vs HP vs Samsung

If you're considering buying one of these types of Windows 8 machines, you should know that they aren't ideal for heavy processing loads. Because they use an Intel Atom Z2760 CPU, they have more in common with the netbooks of old than normal laptops that use more powerful CPUs such as the Intel Core i3 and Core i5

Now that Microsoft's Windows 8 operating system has hit the release-to-manufacturing (RTM) stage, it's time to see how it stacks up against the incumbent Windows 7.
Can the upcoming operating system keep up with -- or even beat -- Windows 7, or does Microsoft still have work to do to optimize performance? Read more at: Windows 8 RTM vs. Windows 7: Benchmarked | ZDNet

Installing Windows 7 on a Windows 8 Tablet PC (Fujitsu)
location:

Hello. I would like to dual boot to Windows 7 (I purchased the Home Edition) on a new Windows 8 Tablet PC (Fujitsu Lifebook T732). I have watched several videos about dual booting, but almost all the videos refer to some variable not addressed in the video
(creating a new partition, the advisability of a second hard drive, etc.). What is the worst that could happen if I attempt to follow these video tutorials, some of them quite good and understandable to more novices than I? Will the tablet PC functions be
lost if I install Windows 7 Home Edition?
Although I have re-installed Windows on inoperable machines, it has been many years since I was required to do so. I have never created a partition for anything other than a Truecryp

I'm trying to upgrade my Lenovo X220 Tablet to windows 8 and keep being prompted to manually uninstall 'ISD Tablet' and 'Lenovo Auto Scroll'. I've tried reinstalling and uninstalling the two through control panel, restarting, deleting all files related
to them, running CCleaner but with no luck.

Windows 10 vs. Windows 8.1 vs. Windows 7 Performance
location:

Three years ago we were benchmarking Microsoft's then latest operating system, Windows 8. At the time we were keen to make sure Windows 8 performed as well as Windows 7, which was a huge upgrade from 2006's Windows Vista.
In the end, we determined that Windows 8 was on par with 7 and at times a fraction faster, leading us to this conclusion in our performance review:
"Looking beyond benchmarks, Windows 8 appears more polished than Windows 7, even if you plan to live on the desktop and aren't too fond of the Start screen, general usage is smoother and appears to be faster on Windows 8, which I found most noticeable on our somewhat underpowered Athlon II X4 system. If anything, it's a great start. No

Windows 8 upgrade with Win 7 in dual boot ?
location:
8forums.com - date:
October 27, 2012
I have Win 7 installed on my main HDD.
If I purchase the 40$ Windows 8 upgrade, can I install Windows 8 on a separate partition of the same HDD while keeping the Win 7 partition available (and untouched) through a dual boot option?
If so, can I rely on the Windows 8 setup application to take care of installing the boot loader and adding the two OSes to the boot options? Or is it something that I have to take care myself with some third-party boot loader and custom installation steps?
In other words, I want to end up with a dual boot setup made of Win 7 and a new, freshly installed, Windows 8 setup. Is it something that I can do with the "upgrade" Windows 8 license?
Thanks,
Ozo.
