Windows 8 on dual monitors
location:

I have just hooked up my test laptop at work to my docking station and now have Windows 8 running with dual monitors. I like quite a few things with the way the dual screens work on Windows 8.
The one thing I have issue with right now, might be easy to fix. Say on monitor 1, I want to display the Start screen, and on monitor 2, I want to run the classic desktop. Anytime I launch a desktop app from the second monitor, it switches my primary monitor from the start screen back to the desktop. Or it switches the 1st monitor back to any previously opened and running metro app.
Is there a way to launch a "classic desktop" app, from the 2nd, keep it on the 2nd monitor, but not have it change away from the Metro

Sharing apps and files between Windows 8/7 dual boot
location:
7forums.com - date:
October 7, 2012
Hey guys, I had this Windows 8 installed on a separate drive volume I reserved 18000MB to it which appears as drive G: in Win 7. In this way, I could keep both Windows 8 and 7 separately.
Now the problem is, when I boot into Windows 8, the system does not see the normal drive C. Instead it sees its own volume G: as a drive C, and does not actually see the bigger drive C: that is tied to Windows 7. So I cannot access the Program Files in Windows 7 and open Google Chrome from Win 8. I just don't want to install everything twice, one for each operating system.
Any help on making the "Windows 7 drive" look visible on "Windows 8" will be appreciated.

I am not getting the screen asking me to choose which Operating system at boot up. It gives me no options and just Boots straight to the C drive where I have Windows 7 Pro.
In preparation I shrunk the Volume of the C drive and created a new partition (E) in which I made it a simple volume NTFS . I then installed Windows 8 Pro from the CD ROM and everything went fine. However when I re boot it just Boots straight into Windows 7 Pro and no mention of Windows 8.
I tried to use Easy BCD 2.2 and now I have three entries (1) Windows 7 (2) Microsoft Windows 7 (3) Microsoft Windows 8
When I select Windows 8 at boot up I then get an error telling me the boot Load EXE file is corrupt
I am really stumped, I have loaded windows 8 four times and s

If you're considering buying one of these types of Windows 8 machines, you should know that they aren't ideal for heavy processing loads. Because they use an Intel Atom Z2760 CPU, they have more in common with the netbooks of old than normal laptops that use more powerful CPUs such as the Intel Core i3 and Core i5

Would like to know why we can't install Adobe Flash Player on Windows 8. It is not offered in the Windows App Store and without I can't download the older, original versions of Angry Birds. I have a Microsoft Surface.
