Help!! Windows 8, Outlook 2010, POP account, can send but not receive emails
location:

When I first got my laptop (6 weeks ago) I could send and receive emails no problem, same with restarting, also had a problem opening/viewing attachments. Now I can only send but not receive, it starts downloading the emails VERY slowly but never completes,
I can't view or open attachments and when I restart it just hangs on the 'restarting' page so I have to shut down completely.

In Outlook 2010 installed in Windows 8, I click the Send/Receive Tab and Preferences shows a Work Offline Icon. Windows Help states: Click this Icon to Work Online. Clicking it does nothing. I cannot find a way to work online in Outlook 2010 in Windows 8. Outlook 2010 in Windows 7 did not have this problem. How do I get new emails into Outlook 2010?

My manager is having an issue running a new copy of Outlook 2010 with POP3 on his new Windows 8 HP desktop. According to what I am reading there is an issue with POP3 with the Windows 8 mail client but I'm seeing conflicting posts on other forums that you can get it to work. Can someone please confirm that Outlook 2010 configured with POP3 will work on Windows 8? And if so ... are there any special tricks?

Uninstalling MS Office 2010 Home and Student Trial on Windows 8 Computer
location:

I recently purchased a Windows 8 computer (Gateway). I went online to the MS site and downloaded a MS Office 2010 Home and Student Trial. I don't know if my computer came with a trial, it probably did though. What I downloaded didn't work due to me failing
to copy the product key before closing the webpage. I then tried to download another trial, this time getting the product key, but it still didn't work because the previous trial was already on the computer (the one I messed up on). I then tried to uninstall
the previous trial, but it won't let me. It says, "This product installation has been corrupted. Run setup again from CD, DVD, or other installation source." I don't have a CD b/c

Synching Outlook 2010 calendars to my new Windows 8 phone
location:

I have tried for a month to figure out how to synch my Outlook 2010 calendar to my Lumia 920 Windows 8 phone. I have faithfully followed all of the steps suggested by AT&T, Nokia, and on-line help sites. All to no avail. I obviously am learning out a step. Is there any way to do what I want to do? I am running Windows 8 on my laptop. Thank you for your kind help.

Windows 8 calculator and Excel 2010
location:

I am using a Windows 8 laptop platform with Excel 2010. I want to use the Calculator with Excel at the same time as a spreadsheet is displayed. I want the calculator on top of the spreadsheet. I launch Excel from the desktop more often than not. The calculator app on my laptop is on one of the tiles on the new Windows 8 display. I can display the calculator overlaying a spreadsheet in Windows 7, but I can't do this in Windows 8. Or at least I haven't figured out how to do it. Can anyone help?
.have a copy of Woody's Windows 8 all-in-one for dummies book, but I haven't found a solution to my problem. It probably involves several chapters of his book. I just need some help coming up with a solution
