I chose to upgrade to windows 8 and got a promo code now after installing the upgrade asisstant and finalizing everything ,at the checkout page i entered the code and got " promo code not valid for this version of Windows " Help please

I got a Windows 8 promo code after I purchased my laptop in August of 2012. I received an email giving me the upgrade code, but I did not use it before January 31, 2013. Can I still use the code or is it now invalid?

I get a popup at the desktop screen when i just turned it on. I then press the update button and it says looking for an update and then gives me an error. i tried to troubleshoot and it then says its fixed but when i tried it again, it just gives me the

I cannot update windows 8,error code 0x8007000D comes up when trying to update downloads 98% and then reverts back ?

I need a copy of my activation key as I saved a copy in my emails but had email problems and lost the activation code and now need to re-install windows 8
I cannot update windows 8,updates get to 98% and then revert back to original, I have not been able to carry out any updates since installing windows 8 ?
I also have an error code 0x8007000D coming up which I downloaded Errorend which is supposed to fix this code but failed to repair problem.
Can anybody help ?
