Can I upgrade to Windows 8 Pro from Win 7 Home premium that has a corrupt oomponent store (that I can't seem to fix)?
location:

I would like to fix the corrupt component store (Win 7 Home Prem) that seems to defy correction on my PC. A non-destructive upgrade fails and all updates since IE9 was installed have failed to either download or install. The CheckSur log shows about
2000 errors. CBS watchtest package (s) are missing as well as CSI winning component key(s). I tried an upgrade (online) to Windows 7 Pro - but that failed. So a $40 upgrade to Win 8 seems like a way to "replace/renew/refurbish" all the missing items .
Will it work? SFC /scannow and Checkdsk show no errors(!) on my PC. I would appreciate some advice.

Is this the full version of Windows 8 Pro or an Upgrade?
location:

I bought this at my local Future Shop, and from my best guess I think this is the full version. I want to be able to do a clean install, but am unsure if this is just a simple upgrade disc. Box I bought looks like the attachment. Sales reps didn't seem to knowledgeable. Also want to confirm, this doesn't look like an OEM version right? I want to be able to install this on another computer in case something happens to my current computer.

Homegroup not found, cannot join. Win 8 pro and Win 7 wireless router.

I am having problems sharing resources between computers. Niether is able to join another and it has been a long time since I set up my original network. It seemed to be working with two windows 7 computers. Now I have updated my desktop to windows 8
pro and that has ceases when booted to win 8 and now 7 as well.
I have windows 8 pro on the desktop hardwired to a router which is connected to an internet modem. The laptop has windows 7. While both will allow me to creat homegroups, they cannot see eachother. The router is an N one... it does not look like the laptop
is using IP6 although it is installed and it does get to the internet just fine. They seem to be on the same subnet.

Windows 7 Starter to Professional or Windows 8 Pro?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
December 17, 2012
Hello. I have a Sony Vaio W series netbook (VPCW210AL) with a 1.67 GHz intel Atom CPU 450, 2GB RAM, 320 GB hard disk on a 32 bit Windows 7 Starter OS. I want to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional or Windows 8. Is this possible? Will you recommend it? I
use the netbook mostly to work while travelling. Starter does not satisfy me. Windows anytime upgrade will not work for me as I live in Mexico. According to Windows 8 anytime upgrade, which I downloaded from Microsoft, I can install Windows 8 Pro, but there
are three issues that concern me: 1) I won't be able to start the machine in safe mode if I had to (I've never had to). 2) There's an issue with Microsoft Security Essentials (I'm not terribly concerned about this). AND 3) There's an is

I bought 2 Copies of Windows 8 pro and would like to ship them back to Microsoft for a technical copy of Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate.

Bought Windows 8 want to Go back to Xp but support will discontinue so Windows 7 is my only other option, Yet i don't feel as though i should buy another Operating System as windows 8 does not meet my needs! Firstly i need a system that i can delve into
and have some understanding of the inner working and Windows 7 Pro fits that bill. I was a solid Windows Xp supporter, As support is being removed as of April 2014 i am being forced to switch over to windows 7 pro. I have 2 copies of windows 8 one open one
packaged still, they will never be used, i can't afford to learn the inner workings, I really Need Windows 7 Pro? My gripe of coarse is i bought 2 Copies of Windows 8 pro and would gladly ship them back to Microsoft for a technic
