Error Code:  0x0000005D Parameters: 0x030F0209 0x756E6547 0x49656E69 0x6C65746E   Installing the consumer preview had no problems.   If I boot into Windows 8 (Consumer Preview) and run the Release Preview setup from the DVD manually, I get the "Your CPU is not compatible" error message.  My machine does meet the requirements as far as I know:  P4 2.6 GHz, 1.75 GB of RAM.

I installed windows 8 pro and my dvd drive has not been recognised. I get a message Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) I tried that FIX IT thing on Microsoft and it failed to do anything. tried unplugging switching sata ports and nothing. tried to update drivers and nothing. what do I do?

Windows 8 Back up DVD: 32 and 64 bit?

Hello. I just bought Windows 8 using the upgrade assistant. My Win7 is 32bit, but I really want the 64 bit version. I didn't realize I was downloading the same 32 bit version I already have. If I order the Back up DVD, will it have both 32 and 64 bit editions? Can I use the same Product Key to install a 64bit Win 8 Pro edition? Thanks in advance! Wilfredo.

After windows 8 install no DVD drives will show up in win8

I installed windows 8 on my SSD drive and now it will not see the DVD drives. They don't even show up in computer management. In device driver they have yellow tags saying the certificates are not signed? Why would that keep them from working? I tried to update the drivers but no help. On is a Sony DVDRW and the other is a TTS DVDRW about 5 years old. Any ideas?

Device manager says error code 29   Windows 8 has led to my inbuilt CD drive refusing to function in any capacity. Device manager reads error code 29 but fix options tell me that the proper drivers are already installed. Trying an external cd drive (via USB) has the same result. why will windows 8 not play system sounds over hdmi?

Hi - I recently bought a HP p6-2388ea PC which has an AMD processor and an AMD 7570 card with a sound card built into the motherboard. It came with Windows 8 - I fired it up out of the box, plugged it into my Pioneer VSX-527 which in turn connects to surround speakers and an LCD TV.   Here's the problem... while I can get sounds out of video games and the Windows 8 music app through the speakers, I get no Windows System Sounds... no startup, no ding/ping/etc. When I open systray sound tools like volume control and playback devices I've checked that HDMI audio is the default and I can see System Sounds 'playing' (i.e. the green volume bar spiking as the sound should be playing) but I get no playback out of the speakers.
