How to turn off touch input in windows 8?

I would like to know how it's possible turning off single finger panning in windows 8?When I want to draw something in Adobe flash or similar drawing software, moving my finger on the screen just drags the blank screen. In windows 7 I was able to solve this simply by going to control panel and changing touch settings, I think in the tablet PC input panel. I've seen other users had this issue. Please guide me solve this problem. I like drawing in Adobe flash with my fingers and making animations.

i have a synaptics touchpad on my Lenovo thinkpad edge e220s, and I am accidently triggering the charms bar a lot when trying to move the mouse, is there any way to turn off these gestures? This is on Windows 8 Pro RTM.  I have tried installing the beta drivers from the Lenovo site, and there is still no section in the synaptics config to change these settings

How do I turn off password check for workgroup on windows 8 pro?

I have a home network of mixed wired and wireless.  It is set up as a workgroup (NOT homegroup).  I use 1 Win 7 Home Premium 64 machine as a file/print server with the printer and 1 folder shared to everyone.  No login required.  The network has been (and still is) working just fine with a mixed bag of Win 7 (Pro and Home premium) and Win XP machines.   I just purchased a new Surface Pro and have been unable to get Win 8 to access the network.  It is set for the same workgroup name (it says no homegroup is set).  It is able to see all the computers but any time I attempt to access the shared printer of folder, Win 8 asks me for my network login and, no matter what I enter, it tells me that I do not h

Hello, It is possible to close/turn off the reading pane in windows 8 mail? I would hope that there is, because I've never been a big fan of the reading pane (or preview pane as it was known in Windows' pre-8 email clients such as Outlook, etc.). When the reading pane is open, a message can be opened just by selecting it, and I'd prefer not to have that (might unleash spyware, malware or other such annoying/dangerous things). In a nutshell, I'd like to just see the "folders" pane and the "list of messages" pane only, and not have any messages open unless I select it AND explicitly open it.
