Original title: Windows 8 I have turned my Asus laptop on a few days ago and still staring at a screen that says preparing to configure windows do not turn off computer. I f i do try to turn off and run one the fixes it goes straight back to the same screen, i can't get out of it, any help please, especially from Microsoft seeing its there software.   Thanks Roamer46

Hi Community!   I've recently purchased a Dell computer with Windows 8.  I've also purchased Microsoft Office Professional Plus and have installed it on the computer.   I can see all of the Microsoft Office application when I log in.    I have set up an account for my partner on the same computer and the Microsoft Office applications are not available when she logs in.    How can I set it up that she can access Microsoft Office when she logs into the same computer using her own username/password?   Many thanks for your assistance. windows 8 bumps me off my unsecured wifi everyday, how to fix?

The wifi connection on windows 8 will turn itself off intermittently.

Original Title: wifi turns off aspire v3 atheros windows 8.   I have a brand new acer aspire v3-771g-6851 laptop. atheros ar5bwb222 wifi adapter. the wifi connection will turn itself off intermittently. windows diagnose connection program doesn't find a problem, however, the wifi connection is reestablished once it finishes detection. After some testing, I also managed to figure out that whenever the connection is lost, i can simply turn airplane mode on, then off again, in order to get the wifi adapter to turn back on and reestablish connection with my router. I have a windows 7 laptop and a macbook pro laptop that both connect to the router with no problems. I have used windows update to update the driver for the atheros card.

I transfered my operating system (windows 8) to a computer that had windows 7 on it abut it didn't transfer Windows Media Center which I had gotten for free. How do i get this back?

I have tried to use the Acer restore disk to reinstall Windows Vista on my Acer laptop, but I receive an error message which appears to be associated with the Windows 8 Release Preview which was installed previously on this PC.

i'm using dell inspiron14 labtop. windows 8 single language 64bit. i downloaded eset endpoint security antivirus. before using of temparary mcafee  antivirus software. atferthat downloaded eset antivirus then uninstall of mcafee. then system restarted & updating windows software. then after 1min back "preparing to configure windows Do not turn off your computer" screen. i dont know what to do?

How do I make programs available to different users in Windows 8 on the same computer?  It's very nice to have my settings and apps go with me from device to device--but if I have MS Office under my sign in, how does my wife use it under hers?  It doesn't seem right to have to install it under both profiles as that's an incredible waste of hard drive space!  Any suggestions?
