windows 8 how do I get rid of the metro app?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
January 5, 2013
Happy New Year. My old computer's HD crashed badly. Needed a new laptop. It came with Windows 8. I never use the metro app. It is disgusting and wasteful and a real hassle to circumnavigate. How do I eliminate this app from Windows 8? I'm serious. Thanks.

I hate windows 8. How can I deinstall it and load windows 7
location:

I agree... the whole system seems to be setup for advertising and marketing... never mind what we actually need/want to use our computer for!! We are not all 15-35 with nothing else to do with our time but play games and purchase products. Sooo frustrating!
(Apologies for all those in the above demographic who do other things too :)).
I agree as well, I do fall outside you age range for Win 8, I am 65years old. I bought my first machine in 1978 which was a Sorcerer and you had to use basic......this was more user friendly than Win 8!!!!
I too want to use the machine for work.
