How do I enable my bluetooth in Windows 8 (option not available in settings)
location:
microsoft.com - date:
June 7, 2013
I have an Acer Aspire 5742 notebook that I upgraded to Windows 8 from Windows 7. Everything seemed to transfer, merge and install completely and efficiently. That is until I tried to use my bluetooth speaker. I went to the Acer website and downloaded all
drivers for my x64 version. Again everything installed completely, no errors. All drivers were accounted for within the system. Start - Settings - Change PC Settings - Wireless (and here is where it gets complicated.) It shows 3 options with bars to turn off
or on. 1. Turn off all wireless communications 2. Wireless 3. Bluetooth. Turning off all wireless has the option to turn off and on. Wireless has the option to turn off and on also. But the Bluetooth bar does not let me change

How do I hibernate Windows 8, there is no "show hibernate" advanced option
location:

I just got a Windows 8 tablet (Asus Vivotab TF810 - full Win8 not RT). I have read every instruction on how to add back hibernation, and under define power buttons I have selected "Change settings that are currently unavailable" and "Shutdown settings"
does pop up, but there is no "Show hibernate" option, only to turn on faster startup, sleep, and lock. I am running Windows in administrator mode.

No Power Option in Windows 8...
location:
8forums.com - date:
January 23, 2013
Hello,
I recently upgraded to Windows 8 (64-bit) and noticed I don't have power options available. I own an HP Pavilion DV7, usually when I leave the laptop to do something over night, I go into "Choose what closing the lid does" and I get the error saying my power plan info is not available. Whenever I try to create a powerplan it tells me the same thing, but when I hit next, it tells me it can't find the file specified. Any ideas on how to fix this? I have no power options at the moment. I tried resetting to defaults using cmd, rebooted, and the only power option I had (Razer Gamebooster) was gone, and had nothing after. Thanks for the help.

No "Install on another partition" option while installing Windows 8
location:
7forums.com - date:
April 2, 2012
Hi
I wanted to dual-boot Windows 7 with Windows 8. So, I downloaded a Windows 8 .iso file and I used the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to "copy" the Windows 8 installation files onto the USB. After successfully copying the files, I started the installer and proceeded with the steps (insert product key, etc etc...) and after accepting the License terms, I wasn't given an option to install windows 8 on another partition (the installer asks me "What do you want to keep in Windows 8 Consumer Preview?" and gives me three choices... see picture).
