Windows 8 Clean Install from Upgrade Disk to SSD with no Operating System
location:

I'm about to build a new pc and would like to know if I need to buy a full version of Windows 8 or can I use the update version to do a clean install on a disk drive which does not contain any operating system? It was possible to install Windows 7 from an upgrade rather than having to buy the full version so can something similar be done with Windows 8 and still be legitimate within the licence agreement?

Windows 8 clean install internet issue
location:

I just updated my Windows 7 computer to Windows 8 Pro RTM. Prior to updating my internet worked fine wired and wireless. Now Google chrome, and ie10 will not load any webpages. Metro apps (mail, store, maps etc ) all load correctly. I've tried wired and wireless connections. They both say they are connected but websites won't load. I also tried disabling and re-enabling and restarting. Nothing will allow it to work. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Windows 8 Clean Install
location:
microsoft.com - date:

Hello all,
I recently upgraded to a larger SSD on my laptop and when I re-installed Windows 8 I selected Clean Install instead of upgrade. I didn't realize that it was even an issue until I got all of my software re-installed, ITunes music downloaded, and items copied
back to my desktop from my old SSD when the Activate Windows screen re-surfaced and wouldn't accept my CD Key. Is there a way to just insert my Windows 7 Disk and let Windows 8 know that this is what I had upgraded from or do I need to re-format my drive,
re-install Win7 then upgrade it to Win8?
Thank you all for your thoughts!
James

Using a pirated version of Windows 7 can I do a Windows 8 Clean Install to get legit?
location:
microsoft.com - date:

Hi,
I know I shouldn't really mention this here, but I'm currently running a pirated copy of Windows 7 and I want to upgrade to a legitimate version of Windows 8 Pro. If I buy it from the MS website for NZ$49.99, am I able to use the downloadable ISO to perform
a clean install on my system. I've heard people having problems with clean installs when it comes to activating them it says that the key is only valid for upgrades not full installs. I'd rather fully clear my system of the pirated software rather than install
legit on top of pirate.
Thanks

Windows 8 clean install: Time and date are set correctly but don't display correctly in the System Tray.
location:

Right now the System Tray clock incorrectly shows as 9:07pm Sunday Dec 2 (and continuously stays at this time and date). When you click on it, the popup shows the correct time and date which is Monday Dec 3 at 11:07 am but the Tray clock still displays
the incorrect info. Obviously a bug but nobody else seems to be reporting this problem.
