How to cancel a Windows 8 Market Place App purchase?
location:
microsoft.com - date:

Not sure if Microsoft is aware that when active users are in the Market Place app, and there is a price change, the user is not notified of the price until after the installation process starts.
I have had this happen to me when an application I was going to install, moves from a FREE application to a PAID application, the user is badly notified of this. Firstly the option is INSTALL not to buy, the next screen was requesting to update payment details...
with no information about cost occured. The a blue dialog box states that there has been a price change, and to refresh (with an OK as a reply), then the next screen states that it was PURCHASED and starts to install. So without being told the application
cost money, and verify

I just helped my dad (he is 86) set up a new computer (desktop Dell) with windows 8. I have not run it before, have Windows 7 on both mine at home. At the Google home page, you cannot see the URL window, or anything at the top of the page. How to I go to a traditional view? I ordered a Windows 8 for dummies book but will not have it for two days yet.
thanks.

Registry settings for the Windows 8 x86 Camera App
location:
microsoft.com - date:
March 11, 2013
I can't get Windows 8 x86 camera app to work on tablets when users can't access their network home folder and their pictures folder. These folders have been set to a network share using the "Folder Redirection" -group policy and this will not change. So
my question is this: How do I change the settings of the camera app so that it works when the tablets are not connected to network.
Also, if you have "Windows Components/Windows Explorer/Turn off Windows Libraries features that rely on indexed file data"-setting enabled, how do you access the libraries settings? What is the .msc for it?

Windows 8 Pro Mail app does not play wav files?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
January 1, 2013
I really love Windows 8 Pro on my desktop so far and I can say excellent work MS! I am just wondering why is it that Windows 8 Mail in Pro won't play wav files or why aren't you allowed to choose a default program to open them up with instead of having
to save them, title them and then open them up with winamp. This is a real Inconvenience for me and lot of people that have magicjack and digital phone service as I see that it not only effects Windows 8 Pro but Windows 8 Phone and RT as well. If this doesnt
get fixed I think this could hurt sales of any 8 devices not really desktops but surface and phone 8 since Apple and Android don't seem to have this problem.

Windows 8 RTM Mail app

Hi
On Windows 7 I was able to check several POP and IMAP accounts using Windows Live Mail. I don't seem to be able to add any accounts to the Mail app under the 'Other Account' type. I enter the email address, user id, password, IMAP and SMTP addresses, unclick the SSL boxes for incoming and outgoing and click Connect. Eventually a red message is displayed We still can't find settings for
[email protected] Providing this additional information may help. If you don't know this information search online or check with your provider. I log in to Windows 8 using my Microsoft account id. Does this make a difference?
What needs to be done to enable accounts to be added in Mail?
