Lync 2013 on Windows 8 join meeting problems
location:
microsoft.com - date:
June 28, 2013
I recently purchased a new laptop with windows 8 and installed office 2013 and Lync 2013 Enterprise edition. Lync works really well and Outlook has the plugins for creating online meetings. The only function not working is join online meeting. Whether
I schedule a meeting or try to join a scheduled meeting I keep getting the message 'We're sorry Lync has run into an error that is preventing it from working properly.' I then choose the repair online option which runs through the repair online process, but
does not fix the problem. I have also disabled the firewall just in case it is a security restriction, does anyone have any ideas?

location:

Hi,
I have Windows 8.1 installed on my laptop and following is the screen shot of the network information:
1. Basic Network information and setup information.
2. Properties of TIC/IP 4 connection under Advanced/WIN tab
Although, I can connect to other laptop if both are wired, but if other laptop is not wired then I can only see its name appearing in the homegroup connection but cannot connect to it.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks for your kind help in advance.

I have recently purchased a Lenovo laptop with windows 8 installed, I have a further 3 laptops with window 7 all connect to a homegroup enabling the interchange of files etc.
Since receiving the new system I have not been able to connect to my homegroup, I have been in contact with MS and spent over 50 minutes going through all the various setting the tech could come up with, at the end of the session all I was told that he
could not fix the problem and that would need to contact their paid service. When I raised the amount of complaints about the problem show on the net he said that there were no complaints shown on his system.
I have contact Lenovo tech support who passed me back to MS stating it was a software p

Connecting Windows 8.1 to a Windows 7 Homegroup

I upgraded my Windows 8 PC to Windows 8.1 yesterday and I am unable to reconnect it to my Homegroup (comprising of 2 Win 7 machines) or in fact get any communication between the Win 8.1 machine and the Win 7 machines. Prior to upgrading the Win 8.1 was part of the Homegroup. From the Win 8.1 machine: it initially detects the Homegroup as shown below,
it then asks me to choose file types to share and then asks for the Homegroup password which is when I hit problems as shown below:
In advanced sharing I have all 3 network types set to discoverable.
As part of the debugging process I discovered that the Win 8.1 was not time synced to the others, when I attempted to sync the time from the various time servers in the Windows drop

Windows 8 won't share in Homegroup
location:
8forums.com - date:

I have 5 PCs on a Homegroup. 1 Windows 8 and 4 Win7s. The Win7 PCs share files no problem back and forth. The Windows 8 can use files from Win7 PCs but not the other way. No Win7 PC can access Windows 8 files. The shares show up but when you click on the shares nothing happens. The share, no matter if it is Video, Music, Pictures, or Documents won't open and I get no error message.
This happens whether Windows 8 created the Homegroup or one of the Win7 PCs. And I have unjoined all PCs and recreated the Homegroups several times from Windows 8 and the Win7 PCs. All the clocks are sync'd, and I have specifically shared the shares in Windows 8. And I don't use any third party anti virus or firewall, just Microsoft's. A
