Windows 8 can't be tethered to via USB?

I'm trying to use my phone to tether via USB to my Windows 8 Pro desktop computer, and it recognises the phone is connected in the USB port but it won't connect to the phone's tethering.
I've tried this with a Nexus 4, and my iPhone 5. Neither have worked.
Not impressed! This worked on Windows 7 and XP.

Original title: Trying to installe Windows 8 Release Preview, but it stops installation in middle, failed
i am using win 7 32bit and now i have downloaded this win8 preview ,i have mounted its iso image to virtual drive using a software
now when i an installed it its asking various permissions and procedures, later during the installation it suddenly stopping with dailogue box "windows 8 installation has failed"
i checked both "keep old data" and "nothing"
but still its not installing!!
can anyone suggest me what to do?

Windows 8 can't support a 1024x600 reso, why?

Hoping that Windows 8 could support also lower netbook resolution (1024x600) cause it sucks when I am always launching my Start Menu on Win8, some of those tiles can't open because obviously Win 8 could support it. Can u fix these?
