If I buy windows 8, can I just download and not install right away?
location:
microsoft.com - date:

I bought a new computer with windows 7 (Home edition) in late October 2012 and was told I could purchase the windows 8 upgrade for $14.99. I am not sure that I want to, but would like to keep the option open in case I change my mind down the road. I already
have a computer with Windows 7 Ultimate and I share files bvetween them and also have a remote set up. If I have one computer with windowwss 7 and the other with windows 8 can you network between them? I know that I couldn't with windows 7 and vista. And my
main question, of course, if I buy, do I have to install right away or can I just buy, download and keep on my computer until such a time as I feel that I would like to switch to windows 8?
Thanks for your response.

I had windows 8 preview on my PC. the day windows 8 pro became available I purchased it online download version. after it begin to download it went straight to installing it took like 15 to 20 mins and done i did a clean install nothing saved. my question
is i thought when you bought online to download that you can make iso dvd to burn so you have a back up on disk just in case of a problem.... my downloaded like i said but went straight to install it with no download of iso... so if i don't have a backed up
copy if i by chance had a problem and i had to install it all over what do you do seen i have no dvd copy of my download. all that downloaded was the widows 8 upgrade assistant no iso to burn.

New laptop with OEM Windows 8. Can it be replaced with a copy of OEM Windows 8 Pro?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
November 29, 2012
I purchased a new laptop that came with Windows 8 preinstalled. I purchased a new SSD and cloning the original HD to the SSD did not work. The laptop would not boot. I purchased an OEM copy of Windows 8 Pro that I wanted to try to install on the SSD after
I did a Secure Erase. The Pro copy installed, but I was never asked for the new Product Key and I ended up, not with the Pro version, but the same Windows 8 that can preinstalled.
Can I install the OEM Windows 8 Pro version on my laptop? I will be very disappointed if I cannot. The OEM Pro version wasn't cheap. To me I installed a blank SSD and this is a new build for me.

Windows 8 can't detect my graphics card (Nvidia Ge-Force 555M)

I have a Lenovo B520 desktop PC and recently upgraded to Windows 8, Since my upgrade I have lost the ability to use my dedicated graphics chip (an Nvidia Ge-force 555M), Upon trying to install drivers for this device the Nvidia installer said it could
not find any compatible hardware (Windows 8 had not recognised the graphics card). If anyone else is having the same issue or anyone knows how to fix it then you would be of great help,
Thanks,
