Change install download language for Windows 8 Pro Upgrade
location:
microsoft.com - date:

Guys I have found out that it's a none issue. Unlike Windows 7-Vista that you had to have The Ultimate version to change the UI language, I think Microsoft has gone international and left it open. So just install it and then download the US language pack.
They have kept it easy and open.

Price difference for Windows 8 Pro upgrade
location:
microsoft.com - date:
March 14, 2013
I upgraded my pc to Windows 8 Pro from Windows 7 Professional when it was first released to the public at the promotional price at the time.
Unfortunately the motherboard in my pc died soon after and I need to rebuild it, so I am taking the opportunity to do a major rebuild.
My question is:-
Why is the price of the Windows 8 Pro upgrade on the Microsoft Download site $399.99 and yet it is only $67.99 in the local computer store?
Is there a difference in the software?

Upgraded to Windows 8, can I change the motherboard?
location:
8forums.com - date:

Hi, I came into possession of a quite powerful, but last-gen, PC that came installed with Windows XP Pro OEM. Now at the moment I can't afford to upgrade all the internal parts so I chucked in a new graphics card to help it along and I upgraded it to Windows 8 Pro. My question is, in the future when I can afford proper upgrades will I be able to change the motherboard? I know that with XP OEM that was not allowed, but now it's been upgraded to Windows 8 is it allowed or is it still forbidden?

Clean install with Windows 8 Pro upgrade media
location:
7forums.com - date:
December 19, 2012
In a moment of weakness, I ordered the retail Windows 8 Pro Upgrade Media from an online vendor and I received it yesterday with both 32bit,64bit media and Key.
I made a Custom install with the 64bit media on a 80GB partition created and formatted with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Windows 7 Disk Management - a clean install with DELL OEM Reinstall Disk - on my Dell lappy.
Since it was an upgrade media, I followed Brink's tutorial refreshing it after the first install. Everything went on well and Windows 8 Pro activated without any hitch.
After reading that many users who had bought the media from the vendor were able to do a clean install even on a new HDD, I decided to try it.
So I reformattedd the partition and installed the Windoes

Will I be able to Clean Install with a Windows 8 Pro Upgrade?
location:
8forums.com - date:
August 29, 2012
I'm interested in eventually trying Windows 8, I'm currently using Windows 7 on all my PC's. With 7 I was able to clean install with the upgrade disc I bought when I was in school for $40. Looks like Microsoft is offering upgrades to 8 for the same deal through Jan 31 2013. I was reading some comments on another forum where I found out about this deal that to my understanding using the upgrade will invalid the upgrade key I have on 7, so I can't go back. Is this true? If I buy the upgrade will it come with a product key? So I can clean install?

Windows 8 Pro Upgrade ONLINE vs DVD version and Language!
location:
8forums.com - date:
January 27, 2013
Hi all,
I have an account at a local computer shop that has windows 8 pro 64 bit upgrade DVD version for 60E. Since I have some money left on that account, i was thinking of buying the retail DVD of windows 8 pro upgrade instead of using the online procedure with the 40$.
My concern is the following:
The Retail Upgrade Windows 8 PRO UPGRADE DVD package is in my local language version and not the English language version I would prefer. Its NOT the version 3UR-00022 (ref. to English)
So, the question is... Can I use the product key number found inside the non-English version DVD box of Windows 8 upgrade pro, to download and activate the english version of windows 8 pro uprgrade OR each key is also related to the default langu

De-activating Windows 8 following upgrade
location:
winsecrets.com - date:

I want to run Windows 8 Pro on my current 'main' laptop (Dell SXPS 1340 - 3 years old) which is currently running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.
I have purchased a £25 upgrade from Microsoft and have also obtained the key for Windows Media Centre for free from Microsoft.
I plan to image my Windows 7 the way I normally do on a weekly basis using Paragon Hard Disk Manager.
I would then upgrade to Windows 8. I imagine I would have to activate the Windows 8 as part of this process. It is possible I may have problems using Windows 8 after activating. e.g. the compatibility checker I ran as part of the Upgrade purchase advised me that my Paragon software is incompatible. More worryingly it says my Bluetooth software is incompatible. I cannot afford to
