Windows 8 Black Screen after Login, can't rest, restore or refresh

I upgraded my laptop, a Dell Inspiron N5050 to windows 8 about 2 months ago and it worked perfectly until last week when all of a sudden i got this black screen and it kept restarting until it launched the recovery mode and i then had to do a refresh which worked perfectly until a couple of days ago when i installed some windows updates and came back to my computer to see it had hibernated itself, upon reopening the laptop it continued with the updates and launched into windows 8 login page fine. That's where the problem comes in, once I've logged in it goes to a black screen with a grey bar at the bottom where the taskbar is on the desktop. I can launch into programs by getting into the task manager, but the 'taskbar' remains all grey,

For some reason after I sign into my user on my desktop, A blank screen appears and nothing loads. I tried the avast configuration since I'm using avast but it didnt work. I tried scanning the system in command promp and it says one corrupt ile was repaired... What is wrong with my computer? And how will I be able to fix it since I cant even login right.

Hi All,   I receive the above error since installing desktop client for TrackIT.   It looked as if Explorer crashed during istallation and the machine stopped responding.   I've tried to get into safe mode with some enthusiastic SHIFT+F8 button pressing but no joy.   Can anyone help point me in the right direction to get into safe mode?   Running Windows 8 RTM.   Regards,   Ian

after starting my comp. when it reaches the log on screen..... it shows my account is signing in and after that black screen with a cursor appears.... nothing else.... i have to sign out and then sign it again to get my screen visible and usable.... (or even restart again) please help me guys......

So, here is the problem. When I start up the windows it boots like it should and when I enter the password of the user, the screen goes black and it freezes. No pointer, cant access task manager etc. The only way to solve this is to restart the PC and it will boot without any problems. I installed windows 8 x64, the same problem. Installed windows 7 32bit the same problem and 64 bit the same problem. I installed the latest drivers available for this computer. I searched on google and some people were saying that it is display driver problem. I downloaded 4 different driver versions , still the same thing. I havent updated the BIOS because I am scared of getting a dead motherboard. I also started sfc scannow but it says Windows Resource Prot

Today after I installed latest drivers for Intel HD Graphics 4000 for windows 8 x64, I got a black blinking screen right after boot with only the mouse pointer after I was prompted to restart my pc to let the drivers take effect. Ever since I have been unable to get the windows to start. I tried to restore to the latest restore point which I created right before installing the culprit driver in the advanced recovery menu but the system restore was unable to detect any restore points on my PC. I then tried the automatic repair. All it did was to stop the blinking screen. The display was still blank. So, I tried to boot in to safe mode but it still got stuck at the black screen. Ok, let's make this clear I am so pissed off right know. When I booted my PC today what was waiting for me? I managed to enter in mozilla buy pressing shift several times, etc. So my question is how can I solve this problem? I have Windows 8 Pro 32 bit. BTW don't mention my english.
