Upgraded to Windows 8, insane RAM cache.
location:

So, I recently upgraded to Windows 8. And I noticed I started having some issues with performance in games (stuttering, etc). My question was, is it normal for Windows to eventually cache all the RAM available? It started out at 1GB, then started creeping up and has never once gone down in size.
Any help would be appreciated, coming from Windows 7 using similar settings, I did not run into this problem.

BSOD in Windows 8, suspected RAM issue
location:

Hi all,
Last night I experienced multiple BSOD errors when running CS:GO and Hitman Absolution. It has also happened at the desktop and when in Firefox, so there appears to be no pattern to these errors. I left Windows Memory Diagnostic running overnight and this is what the report came back with: Log Name: Microsoft-Windows-MemoryDiagnostics-Results/Debug

Windows 8 Pro RAM

I'm running 64bit version. I have 32GB RAM. Systems Information Panel is only reporting 28GB RAM (24GB usable). What happen to the other 4GB RAM? Systems Information Panel should say something like this "32GB RAM (28GB usable)."
I have 4 Corsair 8GB Vengeance Dual Channel sticks installed running at 1600Mhz. The CPU is an AMD FX-8350. The utility CPU-Z is validating the RAM as 32GB.

Windows 8 on 256mb of RAM
location:

Hey guys, yes you read the title correctly. This isn't anything to go crazy about, I know it's not ideal but I want to see how well Windows 8 runs with 256mb of RAM first hand. I know it's possible due to the success stories I've seen people write posts about. Someone apparently was able to boot it with a measly 64mb of ram successfully. As seen here: "http://news.softpedia.com/news/RAMorexic-Windows-8-Runs-on-64MB-of-Memory-226418.shtml" I want to breathe life into my old XP machine. I know it' actually a pretty common hack to get Windows 7 to run on such low specs, but now I want to try it with it's younger brother. The way people have been installing Windows 7 on less than perfect specs from what I've seen is by editin

Install Windows 8 with 256MB RAM
location:

I have an old PC with 256MB of RAM and I want to install Windows 8 Developer Preview on it.
In the past I managed to install Windows 7 on it using a winsetup.dll hack. Even Aero Glass worked!
But there is one problem: The hack doesn't work for Windows 8. There's simply no 77 07 3D 78 01 string and using the same file from Windows 7 doesn't work either.
However videos like Microsoft Windows 8 (Aero + Metro) running on 128MB of RAM - YouTube show it is possible.
