Bought new PC for my wife at Xmas . have used every version of windows since 3.1 and this one is the worst. I have spent hours figuring this thing out. To integrated with everything. No control. Skype suck with this interface. About to cancel my Skype
account. Been paying for years for that and now no control I thought Vista was bad. Is there any hope of rolling this PC to a windows 7? Do I need to take this back to Costco and then go buy a used performance PC with 7 of e-bay to get a decent experience?

Windows 7 Search for specific file content doesn't work

I'm really struggling with Windows 7 Search which seems to be far worse than previous versions. When I search for words that I know are in files no results come up. I ran the Search and Indexing Troubleshooter which said it detected problems with the
system and was able to successfully apply fixes. However it then reported that verification showed the problem still exists. It reported that Windows Search is crashing or failing; Windows Search does not start and gives an error message; Windows Search
does not show any results. My HP computer support technician says the only solution is a full restore, which I really don't want to do. Any ideas much appreciated.

Windows 7 and Lion OS File Sharing Problem

Has anyone been able to get file sharing to work BOTH WAYS between a Windows 7 system and a Mac system running the new Lion OS?
Everything worked fine for me prior to my recent upgrade from the Snow Leopard OS to the Lion OS. After the upgrade, I am able to see my Win 7 Shared Folders on my Mac, but cannot see my Mac Shared Folders on my Win 7 system. Before the upgrade, I could go to explorer, expand the Network item in the left hand pane, and see my Mac listed. Now it is no longer listed. I've tried using the Run command and entering the ip address and path to my shared Mac folder. Doesn't work. I've tried using the Network diagnostic in Win 7 and it apparently detects the Mac but cannot connect. In fact, I've tried everything I can

Hi all
I have some problems with my windows installation and would like your help beacuse i can`t figure what i`m doing wrong and it`s very frustrating.
So, like i said i`ve tried to install Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on my Macbook Pro 13" (mid 2010) with a brand new "Intel X-25-M 80Gb SSD" which i have just replaced from the older Hitachi HDD.
I had no problems at all installing win 7 on the HDD so the problem came after i put the SSD in the Macbook.
This is what i have done so far,
1. Created a windows partion in Bootcamp from OS X.
2. Starting the win 7 installation DVD and choose language, time etc.
3. When asked for upgrade or custom i choose custom install.
Now here`s the problem, when i`m asked where i wan`t to inst

Can i install trial version of windows 7 for my fresh pc if i burn it onto a disk first?

just putting my new pc together and i need an operating system since i dont have the money at this current time to buy one so i was wondering if i burn the windows 7 90 day trial onto a disk would i be able to use that as my operating system in the meanwhile?
