How do i get back windows 7 home premium 64bit(i think) when i updated to windows 8 consumer preview?? i have a sony vaio and ive tried to download the windows 7 iso to a usb and setup it but it just says No device drivers were found.Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click ok. now i boot it up with the regular hard drive and it goes to vaio care rescue. I tried to use it but when it is saving data and i dont have enough time i have a project due in 2 days but the projects on that computer and the rescue takes 3 days please help

Why did Microsoft discontinue Windows 7 when Windows 8 was released?

Windows 7 was/is the best operating system Microsoft has released to date. Lets admit it, Windows 8 is built for tablets and touch screens. So why has Microsoft stopped selling Windows 7 when it is perfect for desktops? I build desktops and I refuse to install
Windows 8 because it has been so poorly designed. I am thinking about 'stockpilling' Windows 7.

Notepad crashes in Windows 7 when "saving as"

Using Windows 7 Home Premium. Done an upgrade from Vista.
When I open notepad and want to save it, there is no problem.
But when I use "save as" I get message "notepad has stopped working"
What can I do to solve this problem?

Laptop Sometimes Crashes When Close Lid to Sleep

Hello everyone,
I have a really strange problem. My laptop's lid close action is set to sleep, although sometimes this isn't always successful. I own an HP Pavillion dv6tqe-7000. There's a light on the shell to indicate if the laptop is still on and at times when I close the lid the light continues to stay on meaning the laptop has not entered sleep mode. If I open the lid again the screen is black, the power light is on, and the Wi-Fi light is also on. I can switch the Wi-Fi on and off still, and the button to mute the sound is unlit regardless if I had it on prior to closing the lid. I can't do anything, and I am forced to do a hard reset by holding the power button.
This seems to happen erratically and I'm not sure of any steps

Windows 7 cannot close some programs and freezes, task manager does not come up

I just installed Windows 7. I use programs such as Firefox browser and notepad++. All of sudden computer freezes and I cannot close programs. When I press CTRL ALT DEL the task manager does not come up. It is like the task manager does not exist. I have
to "kill" my computer by pressing the power button for few seconds.
Also I noticed that it especially freezes when, for example, I try to scroll down the Firefox page.
In addition, while the non-Windows programs get freeze, the Windows still can close already opened folders. I mean it does not freeze 100%, just partially freezes.

Keyboard/Mouse won't wake up Windows 7 when sleeping

It used to work without an issue then it stopped. Not sure if the issue is due to an update from Windows or from another hardware. Basically when the computer goes to sleep the keyboard and mouse is supposed to wake the computer up (I set it up that way), but nowadays I have to manually click the power button for the compute to wake up. Furthermore, the USB with the wifi, bluetooth, etc...won't work either so I have to restart the computer.
This is a fairly new build (less than 6 months) and now I'm having issues with the simple features.
