when windows update completes, i look at the list: some of the updates failed: Update for Windows 7 = failed Update for Windows 7 = failed Update for Windows 7 = failed Update for Windows 7 = failed Update for Windows 7 = completed Update for Windows 7 = completed Update for Windows 7 = completed (And alot more)   Every time i update this happens, why?

Windows 7 update "Service Not Running Error"

I am running windows 7 home premium. Windows update says the service is not running, please restart. I have restarted and the problem has persisted for over a few weeks. I have checked sevices to see if it is stopped. The windows update service doesent even show up.... Is there a way the files could have been deleted? if so how do i recover them? any help would be greatly apreciated!

Windows 7 Update failed error 8000ffff

I have been trying to install the latest windows 7 updates for several days and all of them (14) keep failing. The same error is received for all of them, Error 8000ffff. I researched what the updates were for and it looks like they are for Windows 7 x64, I have Windows 7 x86. Also, just before this happened I started getting an error message that my windows was not genuine. But I ran the activation and it says it is genuine (I have had Windows 7 Professional for a couple of years). I did some googling and ran into several post that suggested uninstalling KB971033 (for the windows not genuine error), so I did that and the error message no longer shows. The windows Malicious Tool update worked just fine. Any ideas?

Windows 7 professional running 32 bit.  Trying to run windows update.  Windows update says  "To check for updates, you must first install an update for Windows Update.  Your automatic updating settings will not change.  To install the update, Windows Update will automatically close and re-open." Windows 7 update advisor does not start

Hi all, I would like to run the Windows 7 update advisor but when I click the "start check" button absolutely nothing happens. I googled for that phenomenon but only found entries saying that one needs to start this using "Run as administrator...", but this is on Windows XP, not Vista, and XP doesn't even have such an option. And my user-ID *IS* member of the Administrators group, so I should definitely BE running this with admin priv's. Any ideas what could cause this and how to get this running? Michael

Windows 7 update fails and Windows not genuine message is appearing

Windows 7 update error code 80080005

Hi, I got windows update error with error code 80080005. I tried NETSH WINSOCK RESET as Noel said in the other post, I changed the window update setting, I deleted all the files in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\ as someone has suggested, and uninstalled Malawarebytes (antispyware) and Norton (antivirus) softwares....ran fix it from microsoft which says error fixed..........still the same error message from the windows update. I did, however, got the latest windows defender update installed.
