Hi all,
I currently built a desktop computer using this motherboard: GA-H55M-S2H
After installing windows and installed the motherboard CD-Rom drivers, I attempt to connect to the internet but failed. The connection is used to test on Windows XP and it worked.

There are some things I tried but failed too:

[*]Disable and enable the adapter.
[*]go to services.msc and disabled [B]Id_String1.6844f930_1628_4223_b5cc_5bb94b879762[/B]
[*]ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
[/LIST]
Anyone one give me an idea?

Hi, after trying to set something with netsh in a dos script, I can't access internet anymore. nothing wrong in "local area connection" properties (ipv4- ip and dns is set to auto.)
Tried disabling dhcp client service and restarted my router.
I get ""Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration" when I try to "diagnose the connection", it doesnt fix the problem and suggest me to restart router.
oh and I noticed Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address. . : 169.254.187.177, thats weird, thats wasnt there. Code:

I've been googling for the past 4 hours on how to fix this darn problem, and I still haven't grasped the solution. I'm not too computer savvy but the funny thing is my 2 desktops connected to the router (wired) can get online, and my two laptops connected to the router (wired) can't get internet access at all. Any help would be much appreciated!

Sharing B/w Windows XP and Windows 7 via Single Wifi-Modem
location:

Hello, I have a laptop having windows 7 in it and a desktop having Windows XP SP3, both the laptop and Desktop are connected to a single wifi-modem[I don't have any router b/w, my modem has wifi and router in it in simple it is a router, a modem and a wifi device ] The problem is when i tries to do sharing b/w my desktop & laptop, neither I can see my laptop in 'My network Places' at desktop nor see my desktop on my laptop.
I've done all the basic steps: like by workgroup is same, and all necessary things in 'Network and sharing' at win 7. I still cant see see the computers, though i can ping my laptop from desktop and my desktop from the laptop.
P.S: Laptop is connected through WIFI and Desktop is connected through wire.

XP can't see Windows 7 in network places
location:

I have two computers. I'll call them "mine" and "his".
"mine" has both Vista and Windows 7 installed (dual boot), "his" has XP Home.
When I boot "mine" into Vista, the networking works perfectly. Vista and XP can see files and printers and all is great.
When I boot "mine" into Windows 7, I can see "his" computer and access his files and his printer. However "his" computer doesn't even see "mine" show up in My Network Places.
I've checked the workgroup in Windows 7 and it's the correct name.
I've gone to the Network and Sharing Center in Win 7 and set my Network to "Home network".
I played briefly with the "HomeGroup" thing in W

Windows 7 PC network problems with Windows XP PC if wireless
location:

My windows 7 pc won't detect my xp computer unless it is wired to the router instead of operating on a wireless connection. I can connect to a vista pc fine but not the xp one. Also, the vista pc can connect fine to both computers and it's on a wireless
connection. The xp computer is on a wired connection to the router.
How can I fix it so I can detect all computers on the network without having to switch from a wireless connection to a wired one?

location:

March 23, 2010
I recently started to get an error when trying to access my network drive. In attempts to fix it I also disconnected the drive and tried to reconnect. I keep getting the error:
Error code: 0x80070035 The network path was not found
I am able to map to the drive from every other machine in the house hold (Mac OS X, Windows XP, Windows Vista). However, the Windows 7 machine continues to report the error.
I've searched the internet for answers and microsoft's website and so far no one seems to have an answer the problem (and it appears to be a very common problem in Windows 7 based on the number of reports I ran into in my search). I'm able to reach the drive
via the IP address but unable to log into it (continues to re-prompt for cr
