I've freshly installed Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit on my system that previously had Ubuntu installed, and prior to ubuntu had Windows 7 ultimate installed. With the fresh install of Windows 7, I receive an unidentified network/no network access issue.
Heres a list of things ive tried:
- reset the network adapter
- restarted the modem and the router
- messed around with homegroup
- reset tcp/ip
- tried connecting to a specific ip/dns/default gateway (which i retrieved with a laptop)
- ip /release /renew although i wasnt successful
Ive tried almost every single thing I could find on google. Nothing works. I connect fine on ubuntu and I connected fine on ultimate.
I havent tried installing drivers though. Because I cannot

Hello 7Forums.
I'll start off with the scenario that brings me here.
Today, I managed to redecorate my bedroom; where my computer sat on top of a shaky, wooden desk. That desk is now gone, caput, and replaced by a much bigger, sturdier and prettier glass replacement.
Before I dissasembled the computer to re-decorate, I was able to browse the internet at ease. There were no problems at all...
However, after the new desk was setup - and all wires replaced in their correct slots, I find that I am unable to connect to the internet, or even the house's network! For the past year, I have been wired to the router using a RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC. It was plugged into an extension cord, in my room, into the Ethe

unidentified network, no internet access

As so many others I've been having problems getting my pc with Windows 7 to connect to the internet. So far I've reinstalled win 7 4 times, each time encountering the same problem, no internet access and unidentified network. The fourth time I reinstalled win 7 I did have internet access for some obscure reason but have lost it again after normal reboot (I did not install drivers/updates or changed settings etc. before this reboot). I tried every trick I could find but none worked this far.
Among tricks:
system restore to the point I had access
setting static ip
setting default gateway to correct gateway
disabling ipv6
changing network adresses on ethernetcardconfig
disabling and re enabling ethernetcard
uninstalling ethernet drivers and

I've seen the other theads on this issue and I have tried everything they suggested to fix this problem but none of them work for me. I need serious help on this. I am running on Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate
Here is my story:
I was on the internet watching a baseball game when my PC hard locked and I had no choice but to hit the reset button to reboot. After my PC came back up, the network adapter would only get Unidentified Network and I would have no internet access. Now my PC is connected directly to the Cable Modem. I did contact my ISP and did the standard troubleshooting but we determined the issue is with my PC since I hooked up my work laptop to the Cable Modem (with the same network cable of course) and it had internet access with n

Hello
I am new to the forum but have read lots and lots of threads in my quest to solve my issue.
I am not terribly computer literate so please bare with me
I have a new Packard Bell running Windows 7 Home Premium. The tower has been replaced once as although I could initially connect wirelessly to the internet, it became more and more problematic. When the shop checked it they said it was dropping the connection and therefore swapped the tower (charging me for backing up my info to my hard drive) At the time I asked if could be a Windows 7 issue and I was told no.
The new tower connected to the internet for about 2 minutes before dropping the connection and since then I have had the little yellow warning triangle and "unidenti

Working with a Windows 7 Pro 64 bit OS. I set it up in my home and applied all the updates. Bought it to the persons house and hooked it up there and all seemed fine except after some time the computer could not access the internet anymore. The icon in the task bar stated "Unidentified Network, No Internet Access". I went back and went into Network Sharing and removed all the unidentified networks which there were 2 and connected once again telling Windows 7 that this was a Home Network. It all worked fine, logged off, shut down and everything came back fine. I thought all was good until about 4 hours later I get a phone call saying they have no internet access again and that the taskbar icon again states Unidentified Networ
