Tried disabling dhcp client service and restarted my router.
I get ""Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration" when I try to "diagnose the connection", it doesnt fix the problem and suggest me to restart router.
oh and I noticed Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address. . : 169.254.187.177, thats weird, thats wasnt there. Code:

I've been googling for the past 4 hours on how to fix this darn problem, and I still haven't grasped the solution. I'm not too computer savvy but the funny thing is my 2 desktops connected to the router (wired) can get online, and my two laptops connected to the router (wired) can't get internet access at all. Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi all,
I currently built a desktop computer using this motherboard: GA-H55M-S2H
After installing windows and installed the motherboard CD-Rom drivers, I attempt to connect to the internet but failed. The connection is used to test on Windows XP and it worked.

I'm setting up a new computer and having problems getting on the internet. The connection worked at first but was very slow. I changed Ethernet cables to see if that was the problem and now have nothing.
The error that I am getting is:
"Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP Configuration
I also have Norton Internet Security running which could be part of the problem.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi All,
I have a custom-built new PC running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits, and was running great until today for no obvious reason I got this "Unidentified Network" and "No Internet Connection" error. My PC is connected to D-Link switch, which is then connected to the Trendnet router which has the internet connection. I Google and tried several things to fix the issue that seems related to my Intel 82567LM-2 network adapter:
- Disable IP V6
- Uninstall driver, restart to re-install
- Install latest driver from Intel
- Disable Bonjour and remove QuickTime (just to make sure)
- Add some registry value based on similar Vista problem Windows Vista cannot obtain an IP address from certain routers or from certain non

Windows 7 Home Premium (service pack 1). Was connecting to the internet fine but then after a reboot, the PC can not connect to the network, it has no IP Address. It just stopped working.
When I run the command ipconfig I see only the following one line:
Windows IP Configuration
When I check the Wireless Network Connection, it is enabled. I can plug into the Local Area connection and it is also enabled.
When I check the properties of either one, the line Internet Protocol Version (TCP/IPv4) only has the option to install. You can't check the properties of TCP/IPv4. I was wanting to verify that it is set for obtaining an IP Address automatically.&

location:

I had Windows Vista and everything was fine, today I decided to use my free Windows 7 upgrade and I can't connect through my router. It started when I downloaded Windows 7 and I went to connect and it showed my network it said "Unable to connect to "network"". Then after a little why, it didn't even show my network their at all. It just said "Unidentified Network, No network access". I've tried nearly everything, I'm connected now through the modem, but obviously I want to fix this situation with my router so I can connect through my router.
Also, every since I got Windows 7, I can't go to my routers IP address at http://192.168.1.1 - it just won't open the page. I was going to reset all router settings to def
