Hi, after trying to set something with netsh in a dos script, I can't access internet anymore. nothing wrong in "local area connection" properties (ipv4- ip and dns is set to auto.) Tried disabling dhcp client service and restarted my router. I get ""Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration" when I try to "diagnose the connection", it doesnt fix the problem and suggest me to restart router. oh and I noticed Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address. . : 169.254.187.177, thats weird, thats wasnt there. I've been googling for the past 4 hours on how to fix this darn problem, and I still haven't grasped the solution. I'm not too computer savvy but the funny thing is my 2 desktops connected to the router (wired) can get online, and my two laptops connected to the router (wired) can't get internet access at all. Any help would be much appreciated!

Ok one week ago i brought a new PC with windows 7 so im kinda new to this OS. Well today i got a Mcafee notification that some program i hadnt heard of before wanted to get internet acces so i pressed block. After that i lost internet connection so i waited and after 15 mins i restarted my modem and router , now my whole network is gone. And now when i press the option connect and i enter the username and password of my router i get an error message and now i got unidentified network no internet access. Already tryed turning off mcafee and firewall.

Hi All, I have a custom-built new PC running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits, and was running great until today for no obvious reason I got this "Unidentified Network" and "No Internet Connection" error. My PC is connected to D-Link switch, which is then connected to the Trendnet router which has the internet connection. Just bought new acer 4820t so set it up last nite to my wireless router no problem was on the internet for few hours switched it of switched it on today no internet!!!! its saying that is connected but also reads "unidentified network no internet access" whats happend?

Hi All I was wondering if anyone could help me with an issue I'm having with my Windows 7 HP laptop. I've recently moved into student accommodation which requires us to register for the Internet (Studentcom), and when running on Windows 7 my laptop (HP G62-107SA) cannot find the internet connection. I've tried a number of things to remedy this - disabling Avast Shields, running a Norton Removal Tool (Norton was pre-installed when I first got it but I installed Avast instead as I've never had any problems with it), disabling Windows Firewall as well as the netsh winsock reset command (and a few others - I've been trying since Saturday to no avail so it's no wonder I can't remember some of them!) so i switched service provider from plusnet to talktalk (UK) and i am having problems connecting, i have spent hours and hours reading forums trying to fix the problem and still nothing. i have tried: disabling and re-enabling the wireless card (dell wireless 1397 WLAN mini card) uninstalling drivers and re-installing them updating drivers (no updates) turning off the router for 30 secs and turning it back onchanging ipv4 settingsdisabling ipv6 i had windows 7 ultimate a week ago, and would be able to connect after an hour of enabling/disabling restarting router, but now i cannot even connect. I just reformatted my hard drive because of network and Adobe problems. That fixed my Adobe problems, but now my network has a new problem. My PCI adapter card connects to the network automatically and shows connected, but there is no Internet connection because it cannot identify the network. I can connect to my home network which does not have Internet, but when I connect to the free WIFI where I am. I can not connect. Before the reinstall, I could connect, but not automatically. Many suggestion were provided by this forum but none of them worked so I could connect automatically. That was one of the reason for the reformat and reinstall. Internet access and Unidentified network no internet access?

So guys, on my network connection bar thing which shows all your connections, it says Internet Access(picture of a house) and below that it has Unidentified Network no internet access(picture of the bench). I don't know if this is a coincidence but once that Unidentified Network showed up my internet started to get really slow. So can anyone tell me to fix this or is my internet just getting slow? I have tried like those cmd ipconfig tricks and messing around with the Internet options but nothing seems to work.
