Using Acrobat 7.1 in Windows 7 Pro XP mode
location:
microsoft.com - date:
September 17, 2012
I just bought a new computer with Win 7 Pro installed. Can I install and use most or all the features of Acrobat Standard 7.1 in Win 7 Pro's XP-mode?
But would I need to have a new activation number to install Acrobat 7.1? (Am I right that Adobe won't cooperate to give me another one, even though I'm the registered owner?)
Many thanks!
From other post:
I know this is an older thread, but I hope someone is still listening!
I'd also like to continue to use Acrobat Standard 7.1 in Windows 7. I have the pro edition with XP mode.
Windows compatibility webpage shows that Standard 7.1
will install
in Win 7 (no mention of Pro's XP mode being necessary): http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/Details.as

Windows 7 Pro XP Mode Wireless NIC won't join Domain
location:
7forums.com - date:

I have setup XP Mode on my Windows 7 Pro laptop. XP Mode boots up works great with NAT selected on the network settings.
I cannot for the life of me join our business' domain once I select the wireless card (I obviously don't use NAT to try to join, for I know that will not work). I have a wired selection to and even using that it won't join the domain.
What I want is for the wireless option to be used because we move around the company with our computers so being wired at all times will not work and I need to be on the domain for testing in the XP mode. Is there something I'm doing wrong? If you would like more information and or screen shots on the error I get let me know. We have windows vista machines running Microsoft Virtual PC

Can you use Windows 7 Pro + XP mode to make your "older" Printer work?
location:
7forums.com - date:

Hi,
As many of you may know, HP is having a "rough time", to be kind, with their printers fully working with Windows 7.
In most cases they just release "generic" print drivers and people with all-in-one printers can not use the scanning, and some other, function because of this.
Does upgrading from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional, and then downloading the XP Mode allow you to use the original XP drivers for your HP printer?
I have heard that this is a "work-around", not sure if that is true or not.
Thanks!

Running Windows 7 in XP mode no cd/dvd
location:
7forums.com - date:
January 25, 2010
I have two hard drives run in Super-Speed and two DVD burners, all on SATA. Running Asus P6T & i7 920. Running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. When I go to xp mode everything works except the cd/dvd player just shows the virtual cd player. I go to the settings and change it to physical drive D (have tried both D and E) but I can't get the use of either physical DVD drives.
I have uninstalled both the Windows Virtual PC and XP mode and re-installed it but it never shows it. Everything works in Windows 7 and everything else works in XP mode, ie: all USB's windows 7 hard drive.
Except the cd/dvds.
Please, how can I get the CD/DVD burners to show and work in XP mode?
Thanks Doug

Lock Windows 7 from XP Mode?
location:
7forums.com - date:

Is there some way so that you have to provide a password to come back into Windows 7 from XP mode? After logging in to XP mode the user can't just minimize it and be back at Windows 7. In other words protect the rest of the computer from XP mode.
