Windows 7 Loses my Network and becomes an Unidentified Network on Reboot
location:

Windows 7 Professional, wired network. Whenever there is a Windows upgrade that requires my computer to be rebooted, it loses my workgroup and internet connection and shows I have an "Unidentified Network" connection. I cannot change it. I cannot delete
it. I cannot even set up a new network connection. If I shut down the computer and restart it my old network settings are back and everything works fine. My network card drivers (Intel 8256V-210/100) are up to date. Any ideas?

A reset disk is required AFAIK which means that you should

Restart your PC. Press F8 to enter Windows® Boot Menu and then choose
Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
Then enter the following:
net user root /ADD
Then neter the following:
net localgroup administrato

On setup of Windows 7 Backup to network drive, how to avoid userid and password?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
February 8, 2013
I have Windows 7 x64 Pro on one PC of my 2-computer home network. I backup my files to a 1-GB network drive using obsolescent software. I would like to use Windows backup in the same way, but I get stuck at the first stage of backup: "what are my userid
and password?". I do not need to use either as both computers are single-user and log-on automatically.
How can I persuade W7 Backup to accept that they are not needed? Alternatively
how can I, having administrator status, either:
check out whether there is an existing id/password?if necessary, set up a new id/password without prejudicing my current automatic logon?

Windows 7 administrative user account password invalid .. locked out of my user/admin account.

Help!! I set an administrative password on my Windows 7 ultimate based desktop computer. Didn't make a reset password disk.
Now when the password is entered, an invalid password message comes up, and I can't access my own user/administrative account.
I can get onto a second user account, but of course that doesn't have any of my personal files etc. Is there a way to bypass and reset the admin password and access my account again???

I just installed windows 7 on my laptop and I must have incorrectly put the password in twice. After and hour of trying to crack it, I gave up. I do not have a password reset set up yet. I don't have another account on the laptop. Just the one administrator
account that I have forgotten the password. What do I do?

Bought new PC for my wife at Xmas . have used every version of windows since 3.1 and this one is the worst. I have spent hours figuring this thing out. To integrated with everything. No control. Skype suck with this interface. About to cancel my Skype
account. Been paying for years for that and now no control I thought Vista was bad. Is there any hope of rolling this PC to a windows 7? Do I need to take this back to Costco and then go buy a used performance PC with 7 of e-bay to get a decent experience?
