How can I find Windows 7 MyDocuments from command prompt?
location:
7forums.com - date:
March 5, 2012
Windows 7 will not start and I have been through the various repair and system restore processes with no success. Before doing a recovery, I have some files I would like to retrieve from the MyDocuments folder (pics, etc) but cannot find the directory from the command prompt. I have already copied some documents that were not in that folder, but I haven't been able to find the MyDocuments directory tree.
Thanks

Can Windows 7 Home Premium join domains, even though it doesn't have the Domain join feature?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
October 24, 2009
Hey I'm just wondering whether to upgrade to Home Premium or do a clean install of Professional, because I need to connect to wireless internet at a university, but I don't know if I need Professional with Domain Join or not. I would really prefer not
to have to do a clean install.

Explorer.exe Command-Line Options for Windows 7 - root setting
location:
microsoft.com - date:
November 12, 2010
I have seen the advice that the old WinXP syntax works but I cannot set the root of the view. The desired folder appears but [in the left hand pane] all the unwanted folders also appear [e.g. favorites, libraries, all other folders for the user, network]
which severely complicates the view especially once I expand sub-folders within the desired folder. In WinXP, the root part of the syntax enabled viewing just the folder in question & its sub-folders [so that the left pane just showed e.g. My Docs in the
left pane]. Can the simple WinXP views be created in Win7?

Windows 7 Pro XP Mode Wireless NIC won't join Domain
location:
7forums.com - date:
November 3, 2009
I have setup XP Mode on my Windows 7 Pro laptop. XP Mode boots up works great with NAT selected on the network settings.
I cannot for the life of me join our business' domain once I select the wireless card (I obviously don't use NAT to try to join, for I know that will not work). I have a wired selection to and even using that it won't join the domain.
What I want is for the wireless option to be used because we move around the company with our computers so being wired at all times will not work and I need to be on the domain for testing in the XP mode. Is there something I'm doing wrong? If you would like more information and or screen shots on the error I get let me know. We have windows vista machines running Microsoft Virtual PC

Can't join machine to domain after upgrading to Windows 7
location:
7forums.com - date:
June 1, 2010
Hello, I recently upgraded my machine from windows XP to Windows 7. Ever since I have not been able to logon to the domain. The system always logs me on to a Temporary Profile; thus I'm not able to access domain resources.
I resetted the computer account and rejoined the machine back to the domain..but its still not being successful; the error message tells me another system has the same credentials as mine and thus cannot join the domain.
I also tried renaming the computer and pre-staging the computer account but its still not successful.
How do I go about this?
