Windows 7 install gpt error
location:

I've been trying to install windows 7 on a brand new 500gb hard drive and during installation I get a message saying windows can't be installed because it's a gpt partition type. I looked it up for a while and saw that I have to boot the install disc using
uefi but my motherboard doesn't support it. Is there another way to install windows on my hard drive?

Dual boot windows 7 and XP Error while trying to install XP
location:

Here's the situation. I already have windows 7 64 bit Ultimate edition installed. I wanted to install a second OS together with my windows 7. I followed this guide,Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP to the letter. I managed to install windows xp without any problems. But the thing is, it was 64bit, I realised i needed a 32 bit version. I uninstalled it, removed XP from EasyBCD. So, I tried to install a 32 bit windows xp using the same method. The installation was copying the files to install and rebooted. But then, I wasn't able to get past beyond that. My MBR was somehow screwed up. I repaired it with my windows 7 recovery disk. Problem solved. But I still couldn't install XP. So I tried to install XP using a USB - Install XP f

Windows 7 install from x32 to x64 error! Nightmare!

Hi,
New to this forum, but read a lot of information off here, but none has helped me as yet. Probably due to the almost infinte variables between computer parts and software.
My problem is the "no cd/dvd Drive Device driver" on a clean install of windows 7 ulitimate x64.
So I'll give you all a little information on what I'm hoping to achieve and as much info as is possible.
My aim is to install x64 version of windows 7 on my new 500gb sata hdd so I don't have to delete 1000's of pictures or gb's of music from my "old hdd" and make the most of my 16gb RAM with a system that will use it.
I am currently running Windows 7 ultimate x86, all genuine and legit, no problems what so ever, apart from I have 16GBs of RAM

Windows 7 Install - Cannot install required files... Error message
location:
7forums.com - date:
November 23, 2012
I have been trying to do a clean install of windows 7 and I am now getting this message. I have probably done a clean install using the exact same disk 5 times before. I've tried formatting the hard drive and re partitioning. This is a custom build.
The thing that is interesting to me is that I then tried to do a clean install using a vista disk that I have, and I get a similar message.
However I am able to install Xp pro just fine. I've also tried switching out memory as well.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
A couple threads mention adjusting RAID settings in the BIOS but I see nothing regarding RAID in my bios.

Trying to install Windows 7 and get Error code: 0x80070003
location:

I have an acer aspire 5720z series laptop which had Vista home premium until it crashed. I took my laptop to a technician and had the hdd replaced. After a few weeks Vista crashed again and didn't want to load. I then opted for ubuntu, but had to reinstall
it a couple of times. Don't know why. Now I am trying to install Windows 7 using a usb because dvd wasn't working for me. Now after formatting the hdd to ntfs again I'm getting this error message: "windows cannot install required files. the files does not
exist. make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. error code: 0x80070003". Can someone tell me why this is happening? Any help will be appreciated.
