The automatic Windows 7 update downloaded two updates last night and they started installing when I logged off last night. Update #2 was still installing this morning. I tried powering off manually and when I powered back up, it gave me the Update #2 installing
message again. Control+Alt+Delete does nothing. This machine is three weeks old. Never had any operating system except Win 7. Any suggestions?

location:

I am about to bang my head.... I can not for the life of me, figure out why I cannot get my displays to work properly. My onboard GPU (which I'm using) supports my config., which is viewsonic led monitor hooked up with vga, and my samsung tv hdmi out of pc to tv. What I "want" is to have my TV playing something like a movie and my monitor to be used for homework. I can get both images to display on both tv and monitor, but cannot seperate the 2. When I go to extend mode, it all but kills my monitor and makes my TV the main display. (kills as just leaves my screen drop on monitor...but no controls) Its like the 2 are switched around and I cannot change them around. Right clicking desktop, then click screen resolution, there is my d

dot net framework 3.5 setup error on windows 7? how to install?
location:
7forums.com - date:
November 21, 2012
dear sevenforums community,
i am using win 7 home premium 64 bit.
yesterday, i bought a new 3.5 external hard drive, inside it there is a dot net framework 3.5 installation package.
Not knowing that win 7 SP 1 comes from net framework 3.5 installed already, i double clicked the exe file from the external hdd.
and then i encountered the PCA (program compatibility assistant) notification, this program does not installed correctly thingy.
from there, i google and try to redo it from scratch, by which i mean i tried to uninstall the 3.5 framework from my Windows 7.
and then i unistall it with .net fx cleanup tool from the msdn blog (http://blogs.msdn.com/cfs-filesystem..._5F00_tool.zip).
Now, i am trying to re-install the net framework 3.5

Windows 7 showing 2 days for activation while upgrading to windows10
location:

I have a dell laptop with windows 7 Ultimate installed on it (Came preinstalled with laptop). Have been using since last 2 years.
2 days back I decided to upgrade to windows 10 (hey, free stuff ).
I selected Upgrade now option (Not iso/USB), it downloaded, did few things and started installing. While it was configuring (Big blue circle that comes) it failed at 5%. Mostly reason was C drive space was very less (8Gb free).
So it rolled back to windows 7. SO I decide to clear up some things, so uninstalled some stuff . got around 21GB in my C Drive now.
Restarted my machine and tried to install windows 10. But this time it somehow asked for Product Key (There is no SKIP option)
I went to system properties, to my surprise now it was showi

Why microsoft does not update Windows 7 to add support for ID3 2.4 tags?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
January 14, 2013
Most media players these days write ID3 2.4 tags to MP3 files and neither Windows Media Player nor Windows explorer can read those tags. And because of this all my music files appears as unknown track, artist, album. And it is really annoying.

Radeon 5700, How to set up 3 Monitors?
location:
7forums.com - date:
July 16, 2012
Hi, I have a Radeon 5700 graphics card. I currently have two screens running off DVI ports. My graphics card also has a HDMI and DisplayPort available. I know that my 3rd screen needs to be running from the DP connection to facilitate 3 screens. However, my screen only has HDMI and VGA inputs. So I bought a cord that went from DP to HDMI so that it could go directly from my tower to my screen without any adaptors. However, It still wont work! Apparently, I need some sort of 'active DisplayPort adaptor'. But my cable output to screen is HDMI. Is there an 'active adaptor' that is DP but goes from HDMI to HDMI? That seems like a very obsure thing to exist... How else can I fix this?

please wait...
I had the same problem, menu opens up on a phantom monitor so I can't see the menu to turn off the monitor. Here's what I did, Open the display properties, they'll go to the phantom monitor but be open. Right click the task bar icon for Display and click Move. Use your cursor keys to drag the window over. Hope this helps.
