How can I run 32bit programs on a 64bit machine? Windows 7 / Ultimate
location:
7forums.com - date:
April 2, 2013
I want to upgrade a 2008 Windows 7 Pro 32bit computer to Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
Have new mobo, processor, 16gb memory, 256gb SSD. Would like to be able to use my 32bit programs for a while, until I can replace them with 64bit progs.
How can I do this? Or do I need to have two machines?
I have searched this forum and found some old posts that suggested I start a new thread.
Very grateful for your help.

How to manage file types in Windows 7
location:
microsoft.com - date:
May 25, 2010
In XP, one can go to Control Panel -> Folder Options -> File Types , choose an extension, then chooseAdvanced and typically see a list of actions associated with the file type. One can change the default action and/or edit
an action to change the program/command used for that action.
I haven't been able to find a similar facility in Windows 7. I do know aboutControl Panel -> Default Programs where one can change the primary program association for a file type, but this doesn't provide the list of actions.
Does the described facility exist in Windows 7?
