Malware had deleted several important files. I found the files in recycle bin. I tried to restore all files from recycle bin. The process was supposed to have successfully completed. However none of the files which had been deleted from external hard drive
were restored and these files had disappeared from the recycle bin. Any help would be much appreciated. The files are artwork images in various formats including photoshop, gifs etc. Please note better anti-virus software had been installed several days earlier
and the malware had been dealt with)

Downloaded zip files. Accidentally tried to "open with" windows photo viewer. All zip files changed. Can't find what program to use as default for the zip files now. Tried several that were listed with in "open with", but didn't work, and when I browsed,
I didn't know what to try. Can anyone help? I have checked out the control panel default settings, but I don't know which one to use to bring back the zip files, so I can extract them.

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L505-S6946 Laptop from Best Buy yesterday for $600... It's dual Centrino 2.0ghz, 3GB Ram, 320GB HD, DVD, etc..
I realize that this Laptop came with the 32-bit version if Windows Vista and I have already contatced Toshiba and they are Only going to be able to give me an upgrade to Windows 7 in the 32-bit version. I will Not be able to obtain a free upgrade for the 64 bit version.
My question is this, if I obtain an Upgrade version of Windows 7 64-bit, can I do a clean install on the laptop even though it's only running the 32-bit version of Vista?
Or do I have to buy the full copy of Windows 7 64-bit?
If I can't do the clean install with the 64-bit upgrade version i'm going to return the laptop and eith

In Windows 7 Can't Open Files Across Network
location:

I have 3 machines all running Windows 7. Machine C & D are running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 and Machine A is running Win 7 Business Premium 64. To start I setup a Homegroup and joined everyone to it. I can open files on B & C via Machine A and I can open files on B via C and C via B, but when I try to open files on A via B or C, I can see the file, but when I try to access it the system freezes and does not open it.
A little history:
Machine B is an older install of Windows 7. Machine B is a fairly new install. Both have very little "extra" programs on them except for anti-virus. Machine A has a new install replacing the the old install from the ground up as of yesterday of Win 7, has anti-virus that is t

I recently upgraded my system from Vista to Windows 7 taking the oppurtunity to install some new Seagate hard disks at the same time. I had stored some files on a Corsair 32Gb USB 2.0 memory stick before doing this. At present the system is a clean install
of Windows 7 with Kasperski AV and the XP Mode virtualisation option installed and fully updated by Windows update. I have also created a Windows 8 VHD file on the C: drive and installed the boot from VHD option in order to try out Windows 8 as well. It is
a 64 bit Quad Core i5 machine.
In copying files off the the Corsair USB stick I am finding files typically take between 3 and 5 times longer to be copied to disk then they do when the operation is carried out on a Vista or XP machi
